Miran MacKay has agreed to move with her cousin and his wife to make a new branch of the MacKay clan. The only thing that is upsetting her is her cousin's captain of the guard. He is arrogant and thinks all women are below him.
This is an amusing adventure through the highlands, with two people with very different views on the world. They are both products of their upbringing.
The characters are great fun. This is part of a series but can be read alone. If you want to read the very good series , it's best read in order.
