Ellie St. Clair has a brand-new series! Read Book One in the Unconventional Ladies Series - Regency ladies in unconventional roles find love in unexpected ways!
She’s determined to make a difference...
Raised to believe the world is open to her, Lady Phoebe Winters reads periodicals and newspapers with growing upset. Everything within her world is shaped by a man’s point of view. Why must women stand idly by, being told what to do and how to do it? It seems to be accepted within their society — until she decides to do something about. Using her inheritance, she begins a small publication, written by women, for women. It’s a risk, but one for which she is willing to sacrifice.
He’s intent on stopping her...
Jeffrey Worthington, the Marquess of Berkley, has held a position of responsibility since the death of his father at a young age. He is a man who enjoys the constancy of life. Despite the fact that his four sisters and younger brother are forever demanding his time and attention, his maintains order and control of all other aspects of life.
As they grow closer, secrets become harder to keep...
The Women’s Weekly begins to cause a stir among women of the nobility, and the peerage determines it must be shut down before it causes consequences from which they could never recover. Jeffrey is tasked with finding the perpetrator and halting production of the publication. He reluctantly agrees, despite the fact that it will detract from his attempt to court the lovely Lady Phoebe, and causes growing controversy between the two of them. When he finally determines the publication’s owner, what will he put first — love or duty?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lady Phoebe Winters is an independent wealthy young woman. She has never been one of the most popular amongst the "ton" because of her outspoken ways.
Now she has found a way to share her ideals with a wider audience of women.
Jeffrey Worthington , the Marquess of Berkley is responsible for his mother and four younger sisters, so when he overheard such outrageous ideas he has to let his feelings be known.
Our poor hero soon learns that men are not as much in control as they would like to believe.
A lovely light-hearted read that covers what was in those days a very serious subject.
Lots of giggles with our wonderful characters.
I'm looking forward to reading much more from this series.
Available on KU.
Ellie has always loved reading, writing, and history. For many years she has written short stories, non-fiction, and has worked on her true love and passion -- romance novels.
In every era there is the chance for romance, and Ellie enjoys exploring many different time periods, cultures, and geographic locations. No matter when or where, love can always prevail. She has a particular soft spot for the bad boys of history, and loves a strong heroine in her stories.
The lake is Ellie’s happy place, and when she’s not writing, she is spending time with her son, her Husky/Border Collie cross, and her own dashing duke. She loves reading — of course — as well as running, biking, and summers at the lake.
