WolfeStrike (De Wolfe Pack Generations #2) by Kathryn Le Veque. Historical Romance Release & ARC Review.

Add To

It’s a new generation of de Wolfe Pack cubs, carrying on the tradition of their illustrious grandfather. Thomas “Tor” de Wolfe has his hands full with battling women and battling enemies as he tries to secure a border castle for Edward I. Chaos is the name of the game!

Tor married, and lost, his wife at a young age. Because his wife was an orphan, he inherited her two sisters when they wed and when she died, they became his responsibility.

Unfortunately, the two spinster sisters view Tor as their property.

When Tor meets the worldly Isalyn de Tuberville, he is smitten. Isalyn, however, is not. Tor is big and handsome, but lives too much of a provincial life. She wants big cities, excitement, money, and no baggage of a dead wife. Isalyn’s father, however, feels differently – and Isalyn finds herself betrothed to the gentle de Wolfe giant. The spinsters have a new target.

Let the battles begin!

Enter a world of medieval mayhem, adventure, but most of all, of an overwhelming passion that soon consumes both Tor and Isalyn. Add Lady Isalyn’s former ambitious and jilted suitor into the mix, and it could mean the end for everything they have worked so hard to build.

But a strong love is worth fighting for, and no love is stronger than that of a de Wolfe.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

After his devastating loss Thomas "Tor" De Wolfe threw himself into his work and ignored his two young sisters in-law.  Years later they are grown up and decided that he belongs to them and nobody else. Now he and other members of the Wolfe pack are hunting a worthless man who abandoned their cousin.
Isalyn De Featherstone had to come north to visit her father,  but she has no intention of staying.  She loves her life in London where she writes plays anonymously.  She dislikes the restrictions placed on her and often escapes on her own.
Our heroine is far too independent for her own good.  We just know it will bring her big trouble.
Our hero is a true De Wolfe, big brave and honourable. He like to believe everyone is just as trust worthy.
You can't help but get fully involved in our characters lives,  especially as there are so many family members that you will have met before in other stories.  We get fun, romance and danger all the way through. A fabulous visit with old friends and new.
I loved every page.

What the Hart Wants (Headstrong Harts #1) by Emily Royal. Historical Romance Release & ARC Review.

GOODREADS

Five lessons in pleasure. One lesson in love.

Fraser MacGregor, thirteenth Duke Molineux, seizes the opportunity to use the title he unexpectedly inherited, to further his whisky business. He leaves his Highland home and heads for London where he’s accosted by a feisty lass, who smashes a vase over his head.

Delilah Hart should be relishing her first London season. But she’d rather be a writer than a bland society wife. Her secret occupation of writing anonymous, inflammatory articles about the notorious Molineux family, is the first step to realizing her dream.

But when the new duke makes her an offer she can’t refuse—to learn about her cause for social justice in exchange for five lessons in the art of pleasure—she begins to question her beliefs and desires. Before long, Delilah realizes that her heart, as well as her career, is at stake.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fraser MacGregor, Duke of Molineux unexpectedly inherited the title.  Unfortunately, said title has passed through some very disreputable hands and is thoroughly disgraced.  Fraser didn't really want the title but maybe it can be used to help his business interests. Our hero is a typical brash and bold Highlander who gives no quarter to dishonesty.
Miss Delilah Hart is an intelligent and independent young woman who is not frightened of airing her views on equality. Although her brother is a very wealthy Banker the upper crust in London society still look down on them, unless they are looking for a loan.  Our heroine is a frustrated poet who wants her poems printed. Her other writings may have unexpected consequences.
This story is lots of fun with some naughty but very lovable characters.  There is a lot of heat simmering under the surface but it's not explicit in language. I very much look forward to reading the next book in the series which I expect to be about Dexter and his lady.
I loved it.

These red wolves are both on the hunt for love, but there's a mystery to solve before they can enjoy their holiday happy-ever-after.

Spend every Christmas with an unforgettable shifter hero

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brooke Cerise is a red wolf shifter who has inherited her aunt's antique shop,  as long as she runs it for at least three years.  With it being near the Christmas season trade should start well.  She didn't know quite how hectic it would be.
Detective and red wolf Josh Wilding is trying to find out who stole a young reindeer from the family ranch, not find a beautiful suspect.
Moving to a new city is going to mean major changes for our heroine and also some very real danger.
There are robberies and murders all seeming connected and a very exciting treasure hunt. It is also quite a sexy but not crude read.
A fast paced story with fabulous characters . It is the first in the series and I can't wait to read the next one.
I loved it.

Her Accidental Highlander Husband (Clan MacKinlay #1) by Allison B. Hanson. Historical Romance Release & ARC Review.

Marian Fletcher Blackley, Duchess of Endsmere, has been on the run from the English Crown for weeks since killing her abusive husband…no matter that it was self-defense. She has only one safe place to go—the MacKinlay clan in Scotland, where her sister is the laird’s wife.

War Chief Cameron MacKinlay has vowed never to marry after witnessing his widowed mother’s grief. He has his lands and his clan, and that’s enough for a good life. When one day a sprite of a lass comes running out of the forest with hounds nipping at her heels and an English bounty hunter not far behind, he feels compelled to save her by claiming the disheveled duchess is his wife. But he certainly didn’t intend to marry her for real!

And now he’ll do anything to protect her..

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Marian Blackley. Duchess of Endsmere killed her husband and knew she would hang for it, even though it was self-defence. Escape to the highlands of Scotland is her only hope. Our poor heroine has lived in terror for years and that leaves more than just physical scars.
Cameron ManKinley is the war chief in his brother's clan just as his father was.  He decided that because he will aways be on the front line in any battle,  he should never marry.  His Laird, however is trying to force a wife on him.  Our hero is a true warrior and thinks he can fight his problems away.  He will soon learn patience.
A very emotional story that will have you reaching for the tissues more than once.  Our characters have to face the might of the British aristocracy who hate the Scots. You will not want to put this down once you start.
I loved it.

Add To

Will The Book of Love bring Dahlia Farthingale the gift of love?

Dahlia Farthingale thought magic would happen when she was the next to have The Book of Love. But instead, the elegant lord she thought would propose to her wound up humiliating her in front of all of her family and friends. She is now convinced no man can possibly want her, especially not handsome Royal Navy captain Ronan Brayden. Ronan can make a brilliant aristocratic match for himself, so why is he insisting on reading the book with her?

Ronan Brayden knows he has his work cut out for him when it comes to Dahlia, for she is the only woman he will have. He knew it the moment he kissed her after she got the pea in the Twelfth Night cake and he got the matching bean.

She will always be his Queen Pea, but how does he convince her of it after her former beau has crushed the confidence out of her?

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dahlia Farthingale doesn't need to read the "Book of Love" that is being passed around the family because she already has someone who has been writing her love letters.  Unfortunately that could mean she has missed vital information. Our sweet heroine takes a serious blow to her self-confidence.
Captain Ronan Brayden holds an important post in the Royal Navy and he needs to persuade men of influence to vote his way.  That might not happen if certain rumors persist.
Our brave hero knows exactly what he wants and how to get it.
Lots of innocent fun with a beautiful love story.
This sweet historical romance is part of a series where each book can be read on it's own but it involves the same two wonderful families you will meet in each one.

Highland Renegade (Children of the Mist #1) by Cynthia Breeding. Historical Romance Release & ARC Review.

Add To

Emily, the Dowager Countess of Woodhaven, has received title to lands in the Highlands—MacGregor lands—and after surviving an abusive marriage, she’s determined to make a new start...without a man. She just has to win over the handsome Scottish laird whose family has lived there for centuries. How hard could it be?

When Ian MacGregor heard that the Sassenach countess was actually laying claim to his lands, he figured to scare the aging widow away by showing her the hardships of living in the Highlands. She’d leave before the first snowflake fell. But he never imagined that the widow was young and beautiful and more territorial than a she-wolf. No matter, he’ll prove that a fragile, London woman like her would never survive life without her servants…and if he happens to give her the coldest and most remote rooms, all the better.

Despite his best efforts to freeze her out, things between them heat up. But Highlanders hate the Sassenach, so Ian faces a dire choice—his clan or the irresistible English aristocrat who seems to have taken not only his lands, but also his heart.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

After the death of her abusive husband Emily,  the dowager Countess of Woodhaven takes her two younger sisters with her to claim her lands in the highlands of Scotland. She has no intention of turning out the Clan that have lived on the land for centuries but she needs to live there.
The last thing Laird Ian MacGregor or his Clan need is for the new owner of their confiscated lands turning up.  They will just have to make her too uncomfortable to want to stay.
Both our lead characters have good reason for needing the land and castle,  and each has a plan to win.
This story is really good fun with lots of great characters that are easy to love.  There is also a lot of danger about,  but just who is behind it??
I loved it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lord Edmund Knight has been rescuing the unfortunate women being preyed upon in London. Sometimes that can put him in the sights of some very dangerous people. His work as a vicar in a poor Parish helps those that need help to find him.
Lady Isabella Hartmere has been in hiding for well over a year.  Now there is extra danger of someone finding her. She just might have to give up the wonderful work she is doing and go on the run again.
Our heroine is a typical woman of her time,  under the control of her father who apparently is not the loving parent she thought.
A very exciting story with wonderful characters that face terrible danger all through.  It will keep you well entertained from start to finish.  This is part of a series of stand alone books.  I can't wait until the next one.
I loved it.

Like many writers, Elizabeth Johns was first an avid reader, though she was a reluctant convert. It was Jane Austen's clever wit and unique turn of phrase that hooked Johns when she was "forced" to read Pride and Prejudice for a school assignment. She began writing when she ran out of her favorite author’s books and decided to try her hand at crafting a Regency romance novel. Her journey into publishing began with the release of Surrender the Past, book one of the Loring-Abbott Series. Johns makes no pretensions to Austen’s wit but hopes readers will perhaps laugh and find some enjoyment in her writing.
Johns attributes much of her inspiration to her mother, a retired English teacher. During their last summer together, Johns would sit on the porch swing and read her stories to her mother, who encouraged her to continue writing. Busy with multiple careers, including a professional job in the medical field, author and mother of small children, Johns squeezes in time for reading whenever possible.

London Russell was a super model by fourteen years of age. She was also starting a singer/songwriting career. A dreadful attack caused her to hide away from the public eye. Since then she was been working just on her music.
Knox Monroe has been a successful actor nearly all his life. He owes his adult stardom to a wonderful old lady. Her writing and faith in him landed him the best role of his life.
This is a fabulous contemporary romance with great characters. It is a lot of fun with a little danger.

Good fun.
