About the Author

Elisabeth Jackson loves the outdoors and dogs, rescued dogs in particular. This Beautiful World is her debut novel and blends haunting childhood secrets, romantic themes, second chances, and a mystery in a small town setting. When she is not writing small town Romances and Mysteries, she works as a freelance business writer. Her characters are inspired by the rural towns she has visited and lived in.

MY REVIEW:

★★★★☆
Rae and King had a traumatic encounter when they were children that nobody in their town would believe.  Now many years later Rae comes back to town to help her father cope with the death of her mother. King is still living in the town. Nothing seems to have changed much.
When strange things start to happen and tragedy strikes, King and Rae must face the past to settle the future.

This book started a bit slow but picked up nicely.  I didn't think the "hero" was very heroic. The heroine is by far the stronger character. Plenty of suspense, but I did find myself wanting to shout at them. Lots of times I wondered why they didn't call in any other police.  I know it is a small town but it must have more than one cop.
