The last thing Gavin Mereworth, the Duke of Selkirk expects is marriage to a rebellious wildling like her. Or is Beatrice Preston exactly what he needs?

Newly titled Duke of Selkirk, Gavin Mereworth carries a heavy yoke. Threats to his land and title come from every side. When a perfectly aimed arrow barely misses his head, Gavin is not amused to find the archer to be a woman, like no other he’s ever met. Her warning shot should have been an inkling of what he was about to get himself into.

It was bad enough Beatrice Preston allowed the Duke to kiss her senseless, but did he have to go so far as to ask for her hand in marriage. Surely an aroused state drained the man of his ability to think straight, now to find a way to keep him from following through.

Gavin Mereworth,  Duke of Selkirk is visiting with his uncles to discuss what must be done now that he has inherited his title.  There are dangerous neighbours that have designs on the title themselves.
Lady Beatrice Preston enjoys nothing more than hunting with her bow. Unfortunately her parents have decided it's time she settled in marriage.
Both our hero and heroine have major life changes to face.  Can they deal with each other and settle into a productive life or will the neighbours win???
A good story with lively characters.  Just wish there had been more of it.
