Ruari Ross was abandoned by his mother and left in the care of his uncle and brought up as if he was one of that family.  He loves his cousins as if they were his brothers. His job as horse trainer for the clan gives him freedom and responsibility. A message from a small clan nearby could change his life forever. Our hero's clan has had enough of war and are enjoying peace as a strong and respected clan. How easily that could change is scary. 

Esme Fraser knows her clan is vulnerable, and it's dangerous to be out on her own but her pet fawn could be in trouble. Our heroine is definitely one who puts everyone above herself when thinking about safety. She has a warrior's heart in a female body.  Unfortunately for those who love her, that can cause problems. 

This is an action packed historical romance with wonderful characters.  There are several times you will feel sorry for our hero's battle with unfamiliar emotions. 

It's part of a series but easily read on it's own.  I have read most of the series and must now go back and pick up the one I missed.  

I have loved each one.

Our hero is in an impossible position.  Can he get out of it or will he be able to accept it.  Our heroine has to face down all the nasty people, one in particular who is determined to cause her pain.  

A very entertaining story with fabulous characters who don't stick to the normal rules of their time.  

I thoroughly enjoyed every page.

This story actually has two separate romances.  Our main hero is devastatingly handsome and is used to causing a stir,  but he is so angry that many are afraid of him.  All except our main heroine.  She's just trying to avoid her mother's matchmaking.  

This is part of a series but easily read on it's own.  You will meet characters from other books in the series so it's better to read the series in order to avoid spoilers.  A very exciting story with fabulous characters.

Elsbeth Miur is a healer searching for any injured that she can help on the battlefield. She is not allied with either of the warring parties but that doesn't mean she will be safe. 
There is intrigue and danger for many of our characters and romance for more than just our hero and heroine. The battle lines have been drawn but someone is not on the right side. 
Maybe the women involved can help stop the fighting.  I fell in love with all the characters on the first page especially the feisty women.  I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
