He wants to marry her off quickly. She says absolutely not.
When the Marquess of Campbell inherits a fiery, red-headed Scottish beauty as his ward, it’s his job to marry her off. No problem. She comes with a fortune. Lady Bridget MacDuff will have suitors falling all over themselves to wed her.
Not so fast. Lady Bridget has plans for that fortune and they involve helping unfortunate women. And she has no intention of helping her devastatingly handsome guardian in his quest to get her off his hands. He doesn’t plan to marry, either. Why should she?
Bridget and Cam are now on opposite sides of a war that neither one plans to lose. Even if Cam’s rakish presence throws Bridget’s heart into turmoil and the marquess can’t deny that his ward sets his heart afire. And then Cam makes a bold proposal...
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lady Bridget MacDuff is twenty one years old and quite capable of looking after herself, but her father's will says she needs a guardian until she is twenty three or married. That's so unfair, she needs her money now for her project.
Donald, the Marquess of Campbell, known as Cam to his friends, suffered under a brutal father and has sworn to allow the title to die out. He has already got his sisters married off to loving husbands, the last thing he needs is another woman to find one for.
Our strong minded but gentle hearted heroine is very naive when it comes to the ways of the ton. She would much rather be in the country, preferably Scotland.
Our hero is used to everyone jumping to obey his orders. This woman is going to drive him mad.
A very entertaining story with lovely characters. A dastardly villain to provide the necessary danger and a hero that gives us hope for men who listen.
Great fun.
