The safest place is with a guy she doesn´t trust...
It´s no secret amongst the "Phantoms" crew that lead investigator Sammy Hanesworth pretty much hates psychologist Cain McCluchen. The tension between them is taut with dislike...and unexpected attraction. Cain knows full well that something about him rubs Sammy the wrong way. But now they´re on a terrifying case -with orders from the network to get along or else.
Filled with past horrors , the Nebraskan site is more than creepy. And Sammy knows it all too well.
It´s her home town and near the place where her mother was killed . As the sinister presence makes itself known, Sammy finds herself turning to the last person she ever expected- Cain. Even as darkness surrounds them, tensions give way to to something bright and unexpectedly intimate. But nothing will prepare them for the evil they are about to face. .....
This story hooked me on the first page. I couldn't put it down.
Sammy is the prickly star of a T.V. program called "Phantoms". One of her co-stars is Cain, he annoys her just by breathing. They have been told by the producer of the show that they must play nice. It is showing on camera, and that is not good for the show.
Cain has no problem with Sammy, but knows she hates him. All he wants is to get closer to her.
Sammy distrusts everyone, especially psychologists. She automatically shuts everyone out of her personal feelings.
This haunting the team are going to investigate this time is in her home town. It proves to be more than the normal ghost hunt.
The love/hate relationship between Sammy and Cain take a back seat to excitement of the hunt. A story that had me on the edge of my seat all the way through.
I have only just noticed it is part of a series. Kelly Moran is a new author to me . I will certainly be reading more of her books. Now I have to read the others in this series.
