Sir Alistair Campbell knows that there is something off about a person close to the young king but has no proof.
An exciting and slightly magical story full of adventure and wonderful characters.
I loved it.

By Madeline Martin.

A very difficult and dangerous journey is ahead of our protagonists.  Magic and mayhem,  truth and lies,  all have to be discovered.  Can they both survive???

The Protector's Promise,

By Cecelia Mecca.

William (Court)  Thornhurst, the Lord if Camburg is supposed to be preparing for battle,  but for some reason he has been drawn up to the Isle of Skye.
Lady Marion Rosehaugh knows she is the new protector of the stone and is on her way to collect it.
Both our protagonists have special abilities, but only one of them knows the power of the stone and what it means.
Someone has evil intentions.  Will our heroine be able to stop war from breaking out.???
Interesting characters.

The Highland Guard and His Lady,

By Lori Ann Bailey.

Captain Duncan Douglas is bodyguard to the young prince of Scotland. A young woman is attracting his attention and diverting him from his duties.  Is she a threat to the prince??
Leslee MacKinnon has gone to the Scottish court of Queen Mary to translate some books.  She has a special talent that she tries to hide from everyone.  When she discovers who the person is that she must protect the stone from,  she realises she should leave as soon as possible.
This is an entertaining story,  different from the others in this box.  Our brave heroine needs to stay out if the political minefield she is suddenly in the middle of.
Will our hero be strong enough to save Scotland  ???

Over all a very entertaining set.

A former English teacher, Cecelia combines two of her passions, romance novels and the middle ages, in debut novel The Thief’s Countess. Combining alpha male types and strong female heroines, Cecelia transports readers to an admittedly romanticized time of knights and castles.

After reading Johanna Lindsey and Judith McNaught, she started a manuscript twenty years ago when medieval romance was at its height of mainstream popularity. Picking it back up in 2015 when vampires and highlanders reigned supreme, Cecelia stuck to the genre she loved and brought medieval England back to life.

She lives in Northeast, Pennsylvania with her husband and two young children where she can be found either planning a Disney trip, watching period dramas or convincing her children to watch Star Wars. She is firmly House Stark and Gryffindor.

Lori Ann Bailey has a romantic soul and believes the best in everyone. Sappy commercials and proud mommy moments make her cry. She sobs uncontrollably and feels emotionally drained when reading sad books, so she started reading romance for the Happily Ever Afters. She was hooked. Then, the characters and scenes that ran around in her head as she attempted to sleep at night begged to be let out. Looking back now, her favorite class in high school was the one where a professor pulled a desk to the center of the room and told her to write two paragraphs about it and the college English class taught by a red-headed Birkenstock wearing girl, not much older than she, who introduced her to Jack Kerouac. After working in business and years as a stay-at-home mom she has found something in addition to her family to be passionate about, her books. She lives in Northern Virginia with her real life hero, four kids that keep her on her toes, two dogs determined to destroy her house and two cats secretly plotting the demise of those dogs.
