WolfeHeart (de Wolfe Pack Generations #1) by Kathryn Le Veque, Historical Romance Release & ARC Review.

Add To

Welcome to de Wolfe Pack Generations… grandsons of the great William de Wolfe. Meet Markus de Wolfe, Patrick “Atty” de Wolfe’s son… and he is every inch his father’s boy.

The grandsons of William de Wolfe all bear the Mark of de Wolfe - a tattoo of the de Wolfe crest somewhere upon their body. It's a badge of honor, of courage, and most of all - of family. The Pack sticks together.

Markus de Wolfe has the blood of the Normans and the Vikings flowing through him. Big, muscular, handsome, and proud, he is a fine tribute to his father and grandfather.

As an elite knight for the de Wolfe domain, Markus is called upon to help defend an allied castle. The Scots have overrun the place, killing the lord, and the de Wolfe army moves in to protect it. Markus takes command, appointing himself the personal protector of the lady of the castle and her two small children.

The problem begins.

Lady Amabella Hemada de Sauque has known the de Wolfe family for most of her adult life, ever since she married her much-older husband. She has known Markus, too, but not well. Not until he takes command of Trastamara Castle.

Then, a fiery passion is born of a passionate young knight and a repressed older woman, one that threatens to tear apart the House of de Wolfe. Will Atty be at odds with his beloved firstborn?

The House of de Wolfe has a history of marrying forbidden women… and Markus is no exception, but this time, will it cost the House of de Wolfe everything?

WolfeHeart is the beginning of the new generation of de Wolfe cubs!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lady Amabella de Sauque has been suddenly widowed,  and is worried that the Captain of her husband's guard is up to no good.  She sends to her allies for help to protect her family and home.
Markus de Wolfe is descended from a line of powerful men and is about to be appointed as the Protector to King Edward.  When his father gets a call for help from one of his allies they rush to help.  The son of the murdered man is serving in one of the family castles as a Squire.
This is a great story with several twists and turns.  The characters are absolutely fabulous especially  the two little ones.  ( I can't wait to read their stories someday).  Our hero makes a choice that others will not understand, but if you have read any of this author's books before you will know her heroes always choose the right path.  You can't help but be caught up in the story from the beginning to the end.
A really great story as usual.

EXCERPT:

“Sir, you may be a mighty warrior, but I fear your hearing is badly defective. Did I not already explain to you that Eloise had offered her assistance? You have no cause to burst in here, scaring her and almost ruining my entire day’s work into the bargain. You very nearly spilled ink all over it.”
“I beg your pardon?” Richard glowered at her. “You presume to call my hearing defective when I distinctly recall advising you of the consequences of disobedience. I shall now add courtesy and respect to the list of my requirements.”
“Courtesy and respect must be earned, sir, and—”
“Enough. One more impudent word from you, and you will find yourself spread across this table and your skirts raised. Both of you,” he added.

ARC Review.

Sir Richard de Wolfe is the captain of the guard to a very powerful and well respected Earl.  His boss is one of the men who pushed King John into signing the Magna Carta.
This is a story that could easily be true.  The danger faced by our characters is very believable.  Our hero is a typical de Wolfe,  strong,  honourable , arrogant and sexy.
Jocelyn has had a very unusual upbringing.  She has been raised in an Abbey and educated and disguised as a boy.  When an exceptional scribe is needed she is the only one for the work.
She has never travelled outside before.  That doesn't stop her from having her own opinions on the people she will be travelling with.
Our heroine is brave,  intelligent and very alone in the world.
Lots of excitement,  danger and politics.
It was very easy to get involved in the lives of all the characters.
I loved it.

Ashe Barker whiles away her time in the wilds of West Yorkshire, in the north of England, writing smutty books and drinking Earl Grey tea. At the last count she had around eighty titles on general release, always hot, with complex characters and fast-paced, compelling plots. Ashe writes contemporary and historical, sci-fi and the occasional paranormal so there’s plenty to choose from. When not writing Ashe enjoys messing around with digital photography, reading erotic stories, pole dancing (though not especially well), walking her dogs, and listening to Bon Jovi. Loud.
