Add To

She craved his touch—and they had yet to kiss.

Book 5, the final book in the exciting new Soldiers and Soulmates series from bestselling author Alexa Aston, has arrived. A widowed duchess at loose ends, longing for love. A colonel with no family who unexpectedly becomes an earl. Two stubborn individuals who are drawn together by passion—and also find friendship . . .

Dalinda Baker wed the Duke of Gilford after one brief meeting, escaping a cruel, unloving father before he could betroth her to a stranger. The much older duke gives her confidence, stability, and two sons before he dies of a heart attack a dozen years into their marriage. With her young boys away at school, Dalinda is at loose ends and visits her brother, where she meets a sinfully handsome stranger.

Rhys Armistead toils as a working-class groom when he is plucked from obscurity by the Earl of Sheffington, whose sickly son might never live to succeed him. Rhys’ mother is a distant cousin to the earl and Rhys is next in line to become Lord Sheffington if the heir apparent passes. Treating Rhys as a second son, the earl purchases a commission in the army for Rhys, who spends a dozen years fighting on the Continent until he receives word that he has inherited the earldom.

Turning to Dez, his closest friend from the war who recently returned to England when he unexpectedly became an earl, Rhys visits the new Lord Torrington—and is taken with Dez’s twin sister, Dalinda, a vivacious widow. The couple spends one magical night together but Rhys realizes the duchess is far superior to him socially and offers her friendship instead of marriage.

Can Dalinda convince Rhys that they are a perfect match—or will his stubbornness keep them apart forever?

Soldiers & Soulmates:
Book #1: To Heal an Earl
Book #2: To Tame a Rogue
Book #3: To Trust a Duke
Book #4: To Save a Love
Book #5: To Win a Widow

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rhys Armitage was a young groom working to hard to send money home to his mother when he gets a surprise that changes everything. It will take many years and a war zone to complete his transformation.
Dalinda Baker tried to help her twin brother elope with the love of his life.  It didn't go to plan and they all got punished.  Years later as a widow with two young sons she gets a chance to start life all over again.
All the characters have had life experience that has made them the people they are and brought them friends who feel the same way.  Family is a very important part of this story.
This is part of a great series.  Each book can be read on it's own, but the series should be read in order to avoid spoilers. Our heroine's brother has his own book in the series that would definitely be spoiled if you read this one first.  As the series deals with soldiers there are quite a few emotional scenes and parts of history you may not of thought about before.
I loved it.

When Anna Browning is caught trying to elope she can't imagine the punishment she will get.  Her father is not one to be disobeyed.
After his twelve years in the army at war Desmond Bretton comes home to a very different home.  His strict father who sent him away is dead along with his elder brother,  so that makes him the new Earl of Torrington.
A neighbour who also recently came in to his title brings news that will turn his world upside down and gives him hope.
This is a very emotional story,  more so when you realize that these things really happened.  The power men had over the women was truely terrible.
Our poor heroine literally goes through Hell. Can she possibly recover fully??
Our hero is not about to let anyone suffer if he can stop it.
The characters are strong and incredibly brave. You will need the tissues and be prepared to read about the things that happened to the poor women in the asylum.
This is part of a series where each book can be read separately.
Very emotional story.

Lady Ashlyn Dunwood was forced to marry her husband who then left for war the next day.  After the tragic death of her young son she also finds out she's now a war widow.  That just fires up her independent spirit and her love for children.  So she opens her own academy for boys.
Colonel Reid Baker returns home from ten years in the army to find himself now the Duke of Gilford.  His two younger half brothers are sullen and disrespectful.  There are many things that need to be done but he finds he is distracted.
A wonderful story with lots of mischievous boys and a heroine who can control them all. Even our hero has to be shown how to behave.  There is one dangerous  person who tries to cause havoc.
This book can be read on its own, but is part of a fabulous series.
Each one is a great read read.
I loved it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lady Gemma Barton needs to persuade her best friend to marry her before her father marries her off to an old man.  The problem is her friend doesn't love her that way and is about to leave for the war.
Mr Burke Nicholson works as a spy for the British . He and his partner are in very perilous conditions.
This is a very exciting story, full of danger and intrigue.  Working as a spy is always dangerous, but could it be even more so in London than on the continent??  Our brave and very clever heroine is nothing like the Lady most of the "ton" believe her to be.  Our roguish hero has given a lot for his country's war effort.  Has he got the strength to give more??
Although this is part of a series you can easily read it on it's own.  You will meet some characters from the previous book but not enough to spoil it if you haven't read it yet.
I loved every page.

Lady Charlotte Nott has to face a completely different life than what she expected once her father dies.  Her step brother hates her.  Can she survive on her own?
Danforth Grayson has spent his adult life in the army.  That can leave scars on a man that cannot be seen.  Returning to his childhood home is even more emotional than being at war.
This is a very emotional story and you will definitely need a box of tissues.  We have characters that are strong personalities,  and that includes the children we meet.  They discover that sometimes family can't be counted on.  Self sufficiency is the key to a fulfilled life.
I loved it.
