My Highland Bride (Legends of Meria #2) by Cecelia Mecca. Historical Romance Release & ARC Review.

Our kingdom sits on the brink of another war with Meria, and as the queen’s commander, it is my duty to pull it back. Unfortunately, Lord Moray, the one man who could help us establish lasting peace, is a notoriously stubborn Highlander . . . and also my father’s nemesis.

I expect resistance when I approach Lord Moray at the Tournament of Loigh, but he surprises me by agreeing to help—on one condition. I must marry his daughter, the fiery girl I once knew as a child. An appealing proposition, except there is, of course, a catch: Lady Reyne must accept my proposal of marriage, and she insists on marrying for love.

The sparks are immediate when Reyne and I first see each other again. Pursuing her is no mere duty, but new obstacles block our path at every step. Reyne has heard rumors of my supposed affection for the queen, and worse, the men who conspire against the queen are planning something wicked.

I am on the brink of everything I’ve ever wanted—stopping this endless war and starting a family—but it could all come crashing down in an instant.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Erik is the Queen's second commander and has been told to go to a tournament to form an alliance. Despite a lot of complications he might just find more than he is looking for.
Lady Rayne is on her way to her first ever tournament with her father.  She has been grieving the loss of her sister for far too long.  It's time to start living again.
The political intrigue is very dangerous to not only the Queen.  Some people are out to start a war.
A great story with fabulous characters and a fascinating storyline.
I loved it.

Cecelia Mecca is the author of steamy historical romance that transports readers to the middle ages. A former English teacher, Cecelia combines two of her passions, romance novels and the middle ages, transporting readers to an admittedly romanticized time of knights and castles. Her first series, set along the Anglo-Scottish border in 13th century Northumbria, turned Cecelia from educator to full-time author. Readers love the Border Series for its focus on well-developed characters and their steamy relationships leading to satisfying happily ever afters. Cecelia lives in Northeast, Pennsylvania with her husband and two young children where she can be found either planning a Disney trip, watching period dramas or convincing her children to watch Star Wars. She is firmly House Stark and Gryffindor.
