I wish to drive ye mad for the rest of yer life!
Mary Hamilton is no stranger to scandal. As the former Laird of Drum's lover, she has been on the receiving end of many dark stares. But when he died in battle, leaving her alone and carrying his unborn child, darkness was all she had left. A woman cannot raise a child alone without scorn, but she would prefer to face the judgment of others than marry to save her reputation.
The need for an advantageous marriage is a burden that Sir William Keith, Laird of Dunnottar and Marischal of Scotland, is all too familiar with. If only every prospective bride did not make him wish to jump off the cliffs surrounding his castle. When an invitation arrives to celebrate the Yule with his Sister at Drum Castle, William is eager to accept and escape the constant reminder of his plight... until the reason for his invitation becomes as apparent as the contempt Mary holds for him.
She needs a husband and a father for her child. He needs a wife and an heir. But a marriage of convenience has never felt less convenient as they seem to fight more than they breathe. However, despite William's resolve to keep his distance, there is a spark in the darkness that surrounds the lass, one that draws him in—like a moth to a flame. But, just like a fire burning out of control, the heat between them may only burn them both in the end.

Sir William Keith is the Laird of Dunnottar and he needs a wife. Because of that he made the mistake of inviting another Laird and his daughter to his Yuletide celebrations. A message from his sister could be a big help.
Mary Hamilton is heavily pregnant and unmarried, but luckily she has the love and support of her dead lover's family. She has had a very bad few months
The politics between the clans has been troubled and the current truce could be easily damaged. Yule however is a time for peace and love, hopefully.
It's very easy to get involved in the lives of our characters . If you haven't read the previous books the family that our heroine lives with might seem complicated but it doesn't take long to sort out. You can easily read this on it's own, but it will definitely tempt you to buy the rest of the series.
I loved it.
In High school she entered writing contests and had some stories published in small newspapers or school magazines. As life continued, so did her love of writing. So one day, she decided to end her cake decorating business, pull out her laptop and fulfill her dream of writing and publishing novels. And she did.
When Mia isn't writing books or chasing her sweaty children around a park, she loves to drink coffee by the gallon, get lost in a good book, hike with her family and drink really big margaritas with her friends! Her happy place is the Renaissance Faire, where you can find her at the joust, rooting for the shirtless highlander in a kilt

Mia is a full time wife and mother of two rowdy boys, residing in the SF Bay Area. As a child, she often wrote stories about fantastic places or magical things, always preferring to live in a world where the line between reality and fantasy didn't exist.
