Dieter Von Wolfenberg burns to rid his homeland of the tyrannical Holy Roman Emperor. A plot to kidnap the Emperor’s wife goes awry and her English lady in waiting is stolen away instead.
When the daughter of King Henry I is betrothed to the Holy Roman Emperor, Blythe FitzRam is forced to travel to the foreign court to serve her mistress. Isolated and disdainful of all things German, she is nevertheless drawn to her captor.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dieter Von Wolfenburg is a Saxon nobleman engaged in the fight against a tyrannical Emperor. This is a war torn episode in European history.  The Roman empire is still trying to regain control.  Our hero is just trying to protect his people.
Lady Blythe FizRam is one of the ladies in waiting to the child betrothed to a foreign noble who sees himself as the next Emperor of Rome.  Our heroine didn't want to follow her mistress abroad but couldn't get out of it.
There is a lot of of political intrigue and adventure ahead for our characters.  The nobles of the time often had no say in what they or their families had to do.  Betrothing children to a foreign noble was common.
This story is as usual for this author, full of fascinating history and believable characters. If you have read any of her books before you might recognize the family a the heart of this one.  A marvelous story that will draw you in from the first page to the last.
I loved it.

I’m a Canadian author with a keen interest in genealogy. I write medieval romance about family honour, ancestry, and roots. My novels are intimate love stories full of passion and adventure.

Passion conquers whatever obstacles a hostile medieval world can throw in its path. My page-turning adventures have earned me a place on Amazon’s All-Star list.

Besides writing, I have two addictions-crosswords and genealogy, probably the reason I love research. I am a fool for cats. My husband is an entrepreneur who is fond of boasting he’s never had a job.

I live on Canada’s scenic west coast now, but I was born and raised in the UK and I love breathing life into the history of my homeland.
