Naomi Garland is half fairy and half mage who is only just learning her magical powers. She is a mercenary and works to save as many people as she can. This will cause her no end of trouble in this book. She finds herself magically linked to someone who lives in Hell.  Popping in and out of there all the time even when it's only in a vision is hard on a girls mind and body. The sexy Dragon born mage she is linked to does make it worthwhile. 
This is a YA Fantasy full of magical battles with demons and other not very nice beings. You do have to concentrate to keep track of where our kickass heroine is. Even she doesn't know half the time.
This is the first in a series, but I think it must be a spin off from another because there are several references to something that happened before this story starts. An entertaining read.

This book is quite traumatic in places, so be prepared with a box of tissues.
When  eighty year old Cass Colman wakes up after her suicide in the body of seventeen year old Casey Davidson , she is confused over why the young girl would attempt to kill herself.  That is until she starts trying to live Casey's life. How that poor young girl kept her sanity amazes Cass. Now she must make the best out of this new chance for life, but everyone seems to be stopping her from doing it.
A fascinating story of a woman's strength and courage.  There is a little romance and a few laughs, so it's an emotional and entertaining read.

Raphael is a teenage werewolf living alone on the streets of Rome. From an abusive childhood,  he tries to stay away from the authorities that can be just as bad. He knows the city like the back of his hand, including the underground areas that is home to many others rejected  people,  wolves and pumas that live without any pack support.
While running from an enforcer one night he discovers Luisa,  he knows she is his even though they are so young. Life on the run separates them, many times. Raphael will put himself in mortal danger, and put up with any abuse to save Luisa from a ruthless gang of werewolf criminals.
We follow our hero through years of trials and tribulations, while he works to find and save his mate.
A beautiful story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, worrying over the incredible brave young wolf.

Monica La Porta is an Italian who landed in Seattle several years ago . Despite popular feelings about the Northwest weather , she finds the mist and rain the perfect conditions to write.
