A fiercely independent duchess and a brooding, reclusive earl are tested by the demands of desire in this unforgettable romance from the USA Today bestselling author of A Kiss of Liesand A Night of Forever.

For Rose Deverill, one husband was enough. As the wealthy widow of the Duke of Roxborough, she has cultivated an unsavory reputation meant to discourage wife hunters. Thanks to a string of steamy affairs, Rose is perfectly content to be known by polite society as the “Wicked Widow”—until she’s reunited with the man she fell in love with at age fifteen. Their bedroom encounters are scorching, but it breaks Rose’s heart to wonder whether her reckless behavior ruined her for Philip Flagstaff.

The second son of the Earl of Cumberland, Philip never wanted the title. But after Philip’s older brother, Robert, follows him into the Battle of Waterloo, his worst fears come to pass. Now Robert lies in a soldier’s grave, and Philip is determined never to pass on the inheritance to children of his own. Then Rose appears, soothing the pain with her delightful curves and passionate kisses. The notorious Duchess seems to want nothing from him—and yet Philip has never ached to give a woman more.

Philip Flagstaff,  the Earl of Cumberland inherited his title from his brother.  It was his fault his brother died, so he is determined not to benefit from what happened.  He has two younger brothers so he doesn't need to marry to ensure the title.  He will just make sure everything is safe for those that depend on him.
Rose Deverill,  the Duchess of Roxborough is called the Wicked Widow.  Her much older husband died just after his son was born,  and she has plenty of money so she can do as she likes.
Her lover has no more need for marriage than she,  so they are happy as they are.  Aren't they?
Pressure starts to increase on our hero to do the right thing,  but he has a very good reason not to. When someone's life is in danger some old friends are called on to help.
A tense and emotional story with lovely strong characters.  There are lots of exciting and unexpected things happening. You will meet old friends from previous stories.  If you haven't read the others this will tempt you.  I have loved all of them.  The stories just keep getting better and better.  I loved it.

Distrust is no match for desire as a proper young miss and a self-professed rogue hunt down a murderer in this thrilling Disgraced Lords novel from the USA Today bestselling author of A Kiss of Lies and A Taste of Seduction.

Arend Aubury trusts no one besides his fellow Libertine Scholars. After his family escaped from France, penniless and persecuted, only the Scholars took him in. So when the stepdaughter of the villainess who has been plotting against them approaches Arend with allegations against their enemy, he suspects a double cross. Yet Isobel is a tantalizing prize, with lips as sweet as champagne and skin as creamy as Camembert. Is she a feast for the senses—or a bitter trap?

Lady Isobel Thompson dreams of marrying an honorable gentleman with a spotless reputation, a trait that Arend seems to lack completely. But Isobel believes that her stepmother is responsible for her father’s death, and only Arend has the skills to uncover the truth. As a cover, Arend suggests a fake betrothal—and soon Isobel finds herself forgetting that their courtship is a ploy. He’s so different from the man of her fantasies, and yet he’s so terribly handsome, so dangerously intoxicating—and all Isobel wants is more.

Arend Aubury, Baron Labourd is part of the Libertine Scholars, but feels himself to only be on the outside because he doesn't deserve to be a part of the group.  There is a woman set on destroying all of them because of the actions of their fathers.  Now they know who she is but need to prove it.
Lady Isobel Thompson believes that her stepmother killed her father but needs help proving it.  Her new friends could help because they also have reason to hate the woman.
Our hero is very emotionally damaged by his past, and has serious trust issues.  Our heroine is totally innocent and can't understand why those closest to her can't trust her.
This is part of a series that is better read in order, although you could read any one of them on it's own and enjoy it.  There is a lot of danger , intrigue and some very sexy scenes.  Our villains are very dangerous and have no scruples.  Anyone who gets in the way will be killed or used to get revenge. A very exciting and surprising climax to the series.  I have read most,  but not all of them and loved every one.
