Geek Bear. (Rescue Bears #6) by Scarlett Grove. ARC Review.

In the latest installment of Scarlett Grove’s exciting new PNR series, can this fated pair escape a painful past and a perilous present?

He’s running from fate ...

Computer whiz Corey Bright set up the human-shifter dating site that has helped all of his fellow Rescue Bears find their mates -- but his own parents’ mating was a disaster, and he has no intention of repeating their mistakes. When his crew set him up on a blind date with the woman who’s his perfect match, he’s furious.

She’s running from danger ...

Willow Rhine is the ghostwriter for a famous romance author. No one should know her secret … but someone does, and she’s got a stalker who keeps sending her threatening messages. She’s come to Fate Mountain ready for love in her life, but no matter how drawn she is to Corey, she doesn’t want a casual fling.

And the clock is ticking for both of them

While Willow works to meet her next publishing deadline, Corey tries to find her stalker … and battles his own fierce need to claim her. Convinced he’s doing the best thing for both of them, he tries to let her go -- only to learn he might be about to lose her forever. Can he and the rest of the Rescue Bears save Willow in time for Corey to admit his mistake?

Willow Rhines is a ghost writer for an erotic romance novelist. That means she does all the hard work, someone else gets the glory and the publisher makes all the money. Her work in progress is not going well. She has a stalker and that is making it hard to concentrate, and her characters won't cooperate.
Corey Bright is Geek Bear to his team mates in the rescue bear squad. He is the brains behind all the computer systems they use. He has been writing programmes since high school. He created Mate.com the dating app for shifters that the others in his team have used to find their mates. He won't use it himself because he never wants a fated mate.
Our hero is happy in his work he has no need for a mate, but he is feeling a little lonely now the rest of the team are all loved up.
Our heroine needs a break from her life so a trip to Fate Mountain seems like a good place to find her Muse.
I love this series. It is better to read them in order so you get the feel of the personalities.  This one didn't have much time with our hero as his bear,  but the bear does get to stir up the emotions.  I don't know if this is the last of the series now that the team are all mated, but a little sister has turned up so there may be more.  I hope so.

Ski Bear. (Rescue Bears #5) by Scarlett Grove. ARC Review.

Can two very different people find their HEA on Fate Mountain? Find out in the next installment of Scarlett Grove’s exciting new PNR series!

From Paris with pastries ...
Pastry chef Maisie Green has come home from Paris so she can be close to her mom. Starting over on Fate Mountain means long hours of work, but her mom persuades Maisie to sign up on the shifter-human matchmaking site started by a local bear shifter.

Ski instructor Zach Rayner competed in the X-Games before the war, and like the rest of the Rescue Bear crew he’s an ex-Navy SEAL. He loves high-risk, adrenaline-rush living … but he knows it’s time to settle down and be the steady kind of man who’s worthy of his mate.

To Fated Mate-dom ...
Maisie and Zach get an instant match on the mating site. Their chemistry is undeniable, but Zach wonders if he’s sophisticated enough for a woman who’s used to the high life of Paris.

Maisie isn’t sure she’s ready for the demands of being a bear shifter’s mate -- especially an uber-athletic guy like Zach. She doesn’t even like skiing … and her business still takes most of her time. Is getting involved really fair to either of them?

And the dangers of a snowy forest
Zach takes it slow, and his patient courtship is slowly winning her over. When Maisie decides to practice her skiing, however, she gets lost in the woods. Can Zach and the other Rescue Bears find her in time? And if they do, will Maisie finally be ready to trust her heart to her mate?

Zach Rayner, known as ski bear to his team mates is trying to get rid of his immature image, because he wants a mate. She will want a man who can provide for her. He has been registered with the Mate.com app that his team mate Geek bear created but so far no 100% match has turned up.
Maisie Green has been working and studying in Paris for years. Now she is a well respected pastry chef she is coming home to Fate Mountain to open her own bakery.
When our hero finds his match he thinks he has to be more sophisticated . He is a jock and an extrovert.  Our heroine is a curvy baker , her idea of exercise is a nice walk. How can she keep up with an athlete.
This is part of a series that is best read in order. In this story it teaches us that sometimes opposites attract and if love is involved just being yourself is enough. I was a little disappointed that he didn't strip for her.  We only have one member of the team to see styled now, but of course he doesn't want a mate. !!

Dazed hearts ...
Quinn Jacobs isn’t trying to hurt Drew, or anyone. She’s just a little freaked out and needs some time to get her head together.

Dire straits
When Quinn finally comes back, nine months later, Drew isn’t at all sure he’s ready to forgive her. But she needs him ... and so does their soon-to-be-born child.

Their reconciliation turns perilous when Quinn goes into labor while they’re trapped in an isolated cabin. Can Drew, with a little help from the rest of the rescue crew, keep his new family safe and make sure they get their happy ending?

Drew Bock has been depressed for nine months. He found his Fated mate on Geek bear's dating app, but she ran from him ripping his heart out.
Quinn Jacobs  panicked nine months ago. She ran from the gorgeous bear shifter  she discovered on the dating app. She was terrified of her feelings. After cutting her self off from everyone she knew and hiding in a rented cottage, she is now running out of money.  There is only one place to go for help.
This is part of a series that is better read in order.
This story is an emotional one. Our protagonists have to learn to put the past where it belongs, and live for the now.
Our team of rescue bears are gradually finding their mates.  I can't wait to see who our extrovert polar bear will get.

Poppy calls in sick, packs up her pet parrot Malcolm, and heads for Fate Mountain. She quickly learns that Angus is sweet, sexy, and romantic. Falling for him is easy -- but how can she share her job worries when she’s not even sure what’s going on?

Angus Grant, better known to his team of mountain rescue bears as Big Bear is feeling the need for a mate of his own. The app that Geek Bear created has not found his hundred percent match yet. With his alpha getting married this week , he is not the only one feeling lonely.
Poppy Robbins is a nerdy, book keeper for a Russian import/export company.  When she hears something she shouldn't have ,it gives her the push needed to change her life. So when the  dating app for women who want to date shifters  finds  her a possible match  she grabs Malcolm and runs.
A sexy romp through the forest. We have a talented, soft hearted hero and a brave and clever heroine. Lots of laughs and a little danger. A good fun read.

Wild Bear. (Rescue Bears #2) by Scarlett Grove. ARC Review.

A bad bear …
Shane Keenan has survived everything life’s thrown at him. Growing up with an abusive stepfather who broke his bear’s mind left Shane unable to fully control his shifts. He went from famous chef to being forced to fight in a human war because of the wild bear inside him.

Now he’s finally back home on Fate Mountain -- and his toughest challenge yet is waiting.

Bruised hearts ...
Lily Mason has her own scars from growing up with an alcoholic mother. She’s loved Shane for years, and when a human/shifter dating site pairs them, she finally tells Shane the shocking truth about their last night together.

Shane can’t risk being around Lily or her son Theo, not when he can’t control his bear. But Lily knows she and Shane are true mates -- and she’s tired of waiting for him to claim her.

Fateful choices
When Theo runs away, Shane knows he’ll do anything to bring him back. Can he find a way to heal his bear, save the child … and persuade his mate to give him another chance?

Shane Keenan, known to his crew mates as Wild Bear was badly abused when he was young. That has affected his control over his bear. When he loses his temper his bear takes control and Shane doesn't always remember what he has done. The fighting he did in the war didn't help. He has avoided humans as much as possible since a public meltdown ruined his career as a chef.
Lily Mason is a struggling single mum. She has returned to her home town to work as a waitress, and hopes the shifter friendly environment will be helpful because her son is a bear shifter with no father figure.
Once again the app for Mate.com plays a role in the connection of two people who need each other.
This is an emotional, but fun romance where our hero must learn how to retain control, even when he gets wound up. Our heroine is a typically fierce, protective mum, but as a human needs help for her son.
I love the characters in this series. You could read this as a stand alone, but it's better to get the whole story by reading them in order. I loved it.

Chief Bear. (Rescue Bears #1) by Scarlett Grove. ARC Review.

A new series from PNR author Scarlett Grove

Worlds apart ...
On Fate Mountain, Levi Blackthorn is alpha of his bear clan and leader of the search-and-rescue crew the Rescue Bears. He and his fellow ex-Navy SEALs are closer than brothers. In a world where shifters often battle prejudice and even violence from humans, they face whatever comes together.

Juliet Hernandez is a soft-hearted, strong-willed graphic designer with a close circle of friends. She doesn’t like risk, but she’s always there when someone needs her.

Brought together ...
One of Levi’s crew has started a shifter-human dating website. Despite his misgivings, Levi signs up -- after all, male shifters outnumber females, and both man and bear are ready to find a mate and settle down.

When he meets his curvy human match, his bear roars in approval -- and Levi wants to claim her immediately. But it’s not that easy. Juliet’s last relationship was hell, and though the handsome alpha’s touch makes her melt, his possessiveness makes her wary.

To give fate a hand
Can Juliet let go of her past and trust the wild heart of her shifter mate, enabling them to forge a bond deeper than any challenge the world might bring? Or will their differences prove too great to overcome?

We have a new gang of bear shifters. They live at Fate Mountain, and work as mountain rescue as well as their proper jobs.
Our hero in this book is Levi.  He owns Fate Mountain Lodge and is the chief of the rescue team, and a grizzly bear shifter. There is a new dating site designed by one of his team especially for shifters to date human women. It must be worth a try.
Juliet  Hernandez is a loving and soft hearted, curvy woman. The ex who she dumped because of his emotional bullying is now her supervisor at work. She needs to find someone who will truly appreciate all she is. Maybe a shifter.
A  good fun, sexy read, with exciting trips onto the mountain. This is the first in what I know will be a fun and enjoyable series.  I think I know who will be the hero of the next book and I can't wait to read it.
