WHO WILL WRITE THE BOOK OF LOVE?

When scholarly Miss Ivy Wareham receives word that she’s one of four young ladies who have inherited Lady Celeste Beauchamp’s estate with a magnificent private library, she packs her trunks straightaway. Unfortunately, Lady Celeste’s nephew, the rakish Quill Beauchamp, Marquess of Kerr, is determined to interrupt her studies one way or another...

Bequeathing Beauchamp House to four bluestockings—no matter how lovely they are to look at—is a travesty, and Quill simply won’t have it. But Lady Celeste’s death is not quite as straightforward as it first seemed…and if Quill hopes to solve the mystery behind her demise, he’ll need Ivy’s help. Along the way, he is surprised to learn that bookish Ivy stirs a passion and longing that he has never known. This rogue believes he’s finally met his match—but can Quill convince clever, skeptical Ivy that his love is no fiction?

Torquil Beauchamp the Marquis of Kerr is rushing to the home of his dead aunt,  determined to throw out the upstart women who his aunt left the property to.  They must have schemed in some way to persuade her to leave it to them rather than the family.  After a delay and a chance meeting he finds there is a lot more behind his aunt's actions.
Miss Aphrodite Wareham (Ivy)  is one of the four blue stockings who are to inherit the wonderful house and scholarly collections from a woman who wanted educated young ladies to be able to continue their studies.
When Ivy gets there she finds special instructions from the Lady she had never met.
A fascinating historical romance with an intriguing murder,  mystery thrown in.  You can't help but be drawn in to the lives of all the wonderful strong characters.  Lots of humour,  scandalous behaviour and a touch of danger make this a great read.  I loved every page and can't wait to read the next in the series.

Manda Collins spent her teen years wishing she’d been born a couple of centuries earlier, preferably in the English countryside. Time travel being what it is, she resigned herself to life with electricity and indoor plumbing, and read lots of books. An affinity for books led to a graduate degree in English, followed by another in Librarianship. By day, she works as an academic librarian at a small liberal arts college, where she teaches college students how to navigate the tangled world of academic research. A native of coastal Alabama, Manda lives in the house her mother grew up in with two cats, sometimes a dog, sometimes her sister, and always lots of books.

by Cheryl Bolen
Series: House of Haverstock, #3
Genre: Historical Romance
Release Date: July 7, 2015

To extricate himself from financial difficulties, John Beauclerc, the Earl of Finchley, concocts a scheme to marry a stranger who's answered his advertisement. He'll show his grandmother! That lady’s withholding money until he can demonstrate more maturity and less scandalous behavior. At six and twenty, the last thing he wants is to settle down. He goes to the church at St. George's Hanover Square to wed Miss Margaret Ponsby of Windsor, send her on her way with £100, and continue to pursue wine, women and faro with his fun-seeking friends.

After the ceremony, he realizes he's married the wrong woman. Miss Margaret Ponsby of Windsor obviously thought the wedding was to occur at St. George's Chapel in Windsor. Lady Margaret Ponsby was at St. George's in London. How can he extricate himself from this wretched marriage—a marriage over which his grandmother is ecstatic?

If only Lady Margaret Ponsby weren't so shy. When the lanky young (though most disreputable) earl she's worshipped from afar for as long as she could remember asks her to move to the church's altar with him, she's powerless to decline. Even after a wedding ceremony begins, she still remains mute. She must be standing in for Lord Finchley's true bride. But once she realizes she really is married to Lord Finchley, she determines to do everything in her power to make this a dream marriage. Even if it means imitating her clever, talkative sister.

★★★★★
John, the Earl of Finchley has got himself in another financial pickle.  This time his grandmother, who holds the purse strings is insisting it's time her grew up. He is only 26 years old,  he is enjoying gaming, drinking and worse with his best friends. But he has a plan!!!
Margaret is a very shy young woman.  Her and her sister might look almost the same, but their characters are very different.
Margaret has always admired the young man who visits his grandmother in the house opposite, but everyone call him a wastrel,  she would never be permitted to even speak to him.
Will she ever be bold enough to reach for what she wants?
Will John's plan backfire on him?  Or will his grandmother get exactly what she wanted.
This is a lovely romance.  No sex scenes, but very romantic.  Our poor John tries so hard not to grow up. But a sense of honour and a conscience work against him. Our heroine is just about the most patient woman on the planet. Or just plain determined.
