Georgina Townsend is furious when she finds someone has stolen her music box.  There is only one thing to do,  go and get it back.  Our brave and independent heroine is part of a loving family,  but has a health problem that is causing her heartache. 
Malcolm Stewart is a soldier who came home to find his whole family wiped out by the highland clearance.  All these aristocrats forcing out families to make way for sheep have to pay for what they have done. 
Our hero is a thief who is trying to make things better for his little band of misfits. 
A lovely,  witty highland adventure with wonderful characters.  It is part of a series,  but easily read alone. 
Good fun.

Theo Townsend is the new Earl of Arden.  He inherited the title from an uncle he knew nothing about.  The entailed lands are in the highlands of Scotland,  that makes them ideal for someone like him.  Since getting back from the war he just wants to be left alone in peace.  His siblings however insisted on accompanying him.
Annabel Lockhart and her aunt have lived in the castle for years.  It´s their home and she will not give it up without a fight.  She also has someone else she must protect.
Our hero is mentally and physically damaged from his war time experiences.  Closing himself away is the only answer.  Our heroine has not had a happy life and doesn't want to give up what she has.
A very emotional story that will tug on your heartstrings, and where you will easily fall in love with all the characters.  This story is historical but could just as easily be contemporary.  Coping with the after effects of battle and feeling unloved can happen to anyone.
I loved it.

Henry Eldridge,  the Marquess of Riverton has been badly burned in a fire. His recovery is slow and painful, which doesn't improve his temper.
Cassandra Davis is a young widow who has been working as Henry's house keeper for several years. His doctor has said that to make sure the Lord recovers he must be made to feel useful. To protect the rest of the staff from his bad temper Cassandra takes on the task herself.
I enjoyed the different slant of this book. Our hero was perfectly satisfied with his life, now he has realised there is much more he should be doing. Our heroine is a very sensible young woman, who knows how to control and organise most things except her heart. A sweet romance and a light relaxing read.
