She promised him a year. Now he wants forever.

Book 4 in the Best Selling series Highland Heroes is now available. Read FREE in Kindle Unlimited!

Ian Cameron knows he’s cursed when it comes to women. His pregnant wife was murdered at the Glencoe massacre, and he barely survived the agony of her loss. Years later, he allowed himself a fondness for another. It wasn’t love, but when she died, it pained him too. No way in hell is he about to set himself up for a third heartbreaking farewell. The only problem is convincing his kin. The meddlesome MacCoinnichs are trying their best to chain him to a lovely widow with three rowdy sons. They told him some foolishness about how she’d be a light for his darkness, and he could be her safe harbor. Gretna is a fine lass and a dear friend, but he’s not about to tie himself to her and her little hellions.

Independent Gretna Neal has already buried two husbands. She has no interest in burying a third. Besides, her second husband taught her everything she needed to know about the faultiness of arranged marriages. She’ll never trip into that miserable trap again. But if a handfasting for a year will silence the meddlesome matchmakers and shield her sons from more cruel rumors, she’ll do it. She can tolerate anything for a year, and she knows Ian. It’ll be more like sharing a home with an old friend.

A mercenary cursed to spend his life alone. A skilled healer accused of witchery. Both at the mercy of friends and kin who decide what’s best for the unlikely pair and turn out to be right.

The couple dares to embrace their connection; until a ghost from the past and a dangerous grudge threatens a chance at the happiness neither of them had ever hoped for again.

Ian Cameron knows he is being set up by the matchmakers and is determined that they won't win.  Just because he has to look after the three mischievous sons of the clan healer doesn't mean he will marry her.
Greta Neal doesn't need a man in her busy life.  Her sons need all the time she has to give them.  She knows the chieftain of the clan pretends there is more work for her to do just so he can provide for her without it looking like charity.
Our hero is a true Highland warrior. He has had more than his share of loss since Glencoe. Our heroine is nothing more than a hard working healer,  not a witch despite what some of the clan say.
A very emotional historical Highland romance with lots of fantastic characters.  The boys are a very important part of this story. There is a lot of danger from people who use the witch finders for their own revenge.
This is part of a series of stand alone stories.  I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them.
I loved it.

"No one has the power to shatter your dreams unless you give it to them." That's Maeve Greyson's mantra. She and Hubby of almost forty years traveled around the world while in the U.S. Air Force before returning home to rural Kentucky.

Now that her day job at the steel mill is a thing of the past, Maeve spends her time spinning tales about her beloved Highlanders and the fearless women who tame them. When she’s not plotting the perfect snare, she can be found herding cats, grandchildren, and Hubby—not necessarily in that order.

Her sweet friend and editor, Jasper the Mighty, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge a while ago but she knows in her heart he’s still watching over her as her four-legged guardian angel.

The precious promise burned like salt in an open wound every time her abusive husband forced himself upon her. Now she’s escaped with her son, determined to make a new life. As hostess, she makes them feel comfortable in the smoking room until their lady for the evening becomes available. The job provides a roof, food, and a bit of money to set aside. With any luck, she can soon save enough to escape to the Highlands where her son will be safe from discovery. But then Alasdair walks through the door.

Redemption. Healing. Love. Fate teases Alasdair and Isobel with the hope of all three. But before they can claim any of these, there’s the unsettled matter of Isobel's cruel husband, the man determined to see her dead and do anything to recover his only heir.

Alasdair Cameron is a well respected solicitor working in Edinburgh. The only thing missing in his life is the only woman he ever loved. She was married off by her father years before.  Our hero appears to be a civilised gentleman but is a Highland warrior at heart.
Duchess Isobel Cuthbarton has managed to escape at last from her brutal husband.  With her aging auntie and five year old son she's now trying to get as far into Scotland as she can in the hope that he will never find them.  That means having to earn money occasionally. Our heroine might be a Duchess now but she's also a feisty Highland lass.
This book is full of twists and turns.  There is a lot of danger for everyone involved and a powerful villain.  It will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through.
This is part of a series so you will meet characters from the previous books but can easily read this or any of them on it's own.
Very exciting.

The seer predicted a union of necessity. A marriage foreseen to save a man’s life and heal a woman’s soul.

Death by boredom is the only fate Duncan MacCoinnich fears. Years as a mercenary fed him the adventure he needed, but now the dull routines of his brother’s keep are starving him for excitement. So, he offers his services to the ruthless smuggling lord, the MacDonald of Skye and all is set—until the woman screams.

Independence and adventure are all Tilda Mackenzie wants, a tall order for the only child of the chieftain of Clan Mackenzie. Her duty is to marry and secure an alliance. But she’d rather work at her father’s side, helping him build their smuggling empire and outmaneuver the bloody MacDonalds. She’s fearless and canny and takes pride in bending her will to no man—until the day the soldiers decide she needs humbling.

Tilda’s rescue has Duncan headed for the gallows even though she claims him to be her husband to refute the accusations. Both of them wished for adventure. But adventures can weary a soul especially when deadly enemies appear in unexpected places. That’s when wishes change to prayers for nothing more than the safety and love found in each other’s arms.

Take care with what ye wish. And word such wishes wisely. For when ye receive what ye want, ye might discover it a curse instead.

Adventure, treachery, and romance abound in this second book of the Highland Heroes Series from bestselling author Maeve Greyson.

Duncan MacCoininch can't settle into the quiet life of his brother's new keep,  so he decides to search for adventure.  He's off to learn smuggling.  That's until he hears a woman scream.
Tilda MacKenzie is the only child of a powerful chieftain but that's not helping her now.
This is a very emotional story where our characters go from one danger to another.  Death is following in their wake.
We go from the highlands to the islands,  with fierce Highlanders and even fiercer pirates.
Very exciting action packed story.

Graham MacCoinnich is suspicious of King William of England's motives when he is summoned to the palace.  The Duke of Edsbury wants his daughter the Lady Mercy Claxton taken on a tour of Scotland,  and the King agrees.  Graham knows it must be a trap of some kind but can see no way out,  yet.
Lady Mercy has been shunned by most of society all her life,  because of her mother's history and bloodline. Luckily she is favored by the King as his godchild. With her mother and brother now dead, Mercy must rely on the strength she has been taught to get her through what will be a very difficult journey.
Political intrigue and jealousy means there is danger everywhere.  Our Highland warrior needs to be constantly on the look-out, not being diverted by a beautiful woman.
A marvelous tension filled journey through the length of England.  Will they survive or will they bring war to the doorstep of his clan?
You can't help but fall in love with all the characters, including the very smart horse.
I loved this and can't wait to read the next in the series.
