Stone Haven isn’t Torr Derrickson’s kind of town. Small. Quaint. The kind of place where everyone knows their neighbors’ business.

Torr only came here as an act of brotherly love—to help his brother fulfill a lifelong dream of opening up a bar. The moment that cash drawer accepted its first dollar, Torr planned to be back in a real city, stalking the streets in hopes of more adventurous prey. Unfortunately, his reputation—as a bit of a playboy and, more importantly, a vampire—has already caught the attention of some townspeople, much to his brother’s dismay.

Enter Charlotte O’Neill.

The English teacher is everything Torr is not. A small-town girl. A rule-follower. And very much a human. She’s the last woman Torr wants in his life…yet the first one to ever set his blood on fire.

Charlotte's attraction to the bad-boy vampire consumes her every waking—and definitely sleeping—moment, distracting her from the redemption that had defined her life up until meeting him. The redemption she wanted for so long is at war with the new awakening in her heart.

Like a budding flower, Charlotte finds herself changing in the company of this pair of blue eyes and fangs.

Forced together, the two opposites must decide between passion and reputation. Love and fear.

Life and death.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Torr Derrickson is visiting the sleepy little town of Stone haven and his brother.  After seven hundred years as vampires they don't normally put down roots,  but his brother is opening a bar there with the love of his life.
Torr is more a wandering Playboy type,  so the sooner he can leave the better.  He really doesn't like all the company his brother is keeping.
Charlotte O'Neill is a typical Southern Belle. From a once very wealthy family she now works as an English teacher. She is always aware of the necessity of a good reputation.  Her two best friends in town have recently found love with the latest residents to settle in town.
This is an exciting paranormal romance that is part of a series that is better read in order because of the underlining back story.  You could enjoy it on it's own but it will tempt you to read the others.
Wonderful characters and lots of fun.  There must be at least one more book to come.  I hope.

Cecelia Mecca is the author of steamy historical romance that transports readers to the middle ages. A former English teacher, Cecelia combines two of her passions, romance novels and the middle ages, transporting readers to an admittedly romanticized time of knights and castles. Her first series, set along the Anglo-Scottish border in 13th century Northumbria, turned Cecelia from educator to full-time author. Readers love the Border Series for its focus on well-developed characters and their steamy relationships leading to satisfying happily ever afters. Cecelia lives in Northeast, Pennsylvania with her husband and two young children where she can be found either planning a Disney trip, watching period dramas or convincing her children to watch Star Wars. She is firmly House Stark and Gryffindor.

The Immortal's Salvation (Bloodwite #2) by Cecelia Mecca. Paranormal Romance Review.

Even cursed blood can fall prey to love’s bite.

Lawrence Derrickson never wanted to be a chief, let alone a vampire, but fate has always been a fickle beast…callous to the inner-workings of a man’s heart.

Seven hundred years after he was turned, he’s still chief of Clan Karyn, although his clan now consists of only his three siblings. With no more castle to protect and defend, they are dedicated to only one cause—protecting the Cheld—their superhuman descendants.

Lawrence longs for a different life—a life of his own passions, desires, and dreams—but duty drives him further from that with each passing century of protecting the Cheld. Until their mission brings him to Stone Haven. In saving a fledgling Cheld, Alessandra Fiore, he meets her best friend, Toni O’Neill, a human woman who seems to understand him better than anyone has in over ten lifetimes. Too bad she’s already taken.

Lawrence Derrickson is off limits. Or so Toni has been telling herself ever since the first time she saw him. Sure, Lawrence is a devastatingly handsome vampire, but she has a boyfriend—one who’s safe and comfortable, if not exciting or reliable or trustworthy. Besides, what would someone like Lawrence want with her? Toni’s fast approaching thirty, and she still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up. But her heart urges her to take a chance and leave her predicable life behind her to explore the inner-workings of Lawrence’s heart.

Lawrence feels he’s finally found a home, and the love of his long life in Toni, but trouble soon finds him in Stone Haven, forcing him to decide what matters most—desire or duty. Family or his own heart.

Fate can be a fickle, callous, evil tormentor…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Toni O'Neill has just dumped her boyfriend after finding him cheating on her.  None of her friends liked him,  so she should really have admitted before that he was no good.  She had recently been feeling attracted to someone else herself.
Lawrence Derickson is one of two vampires in town.  They have come to an uneasy truce after centuries of being enemies.  That is because the woman he came to town to protect.
It's her bestfriend however that tempts him to settle in town.
An exciting paranormal romance with great characters and plenty of humour.
Although you could read this book on it's own it's better to read the series in order to understand the back story to it.
I will definitely be reading all of the series asap.
Great fun.

The Vampire's Temptation (Bloodwite #1) by Cecelia Mecca. Paranormal Romance Review.

Add To

Even cursed blood can fall prey to love’s bite.
Kenton Morley and Lawrence Derrickson have hated each other ever since they were feuding border lords in medieval England and Scotland…seven hundred years ago.
When their bloodlines were cursed, birthing the world’s first vampires.
Their feud has since carried through the centuries based on a new argument: Kenton seeks to destroy the Cheld—the only line of humans capable of killing their kind—while Lawrence seeks to save them.
It’s said that men can forget, but never forgive. It’s also said that true love knows no bounds. When the vampires move to Stone Haven, Pennsylvania, Alessandra Fiore will find out firsthand which of those old adages is true.
It doesn’t matter whether she believes in vampires or not…
Because they believe in her. And she’s on the very cusp of discovering her dormant powers as a Cheld—a potential vampire hunter.
And with both of these strangely wealthy newcomers’ storming into her sleepy, peaceful town, warning her to stay away from the other, what is a girl to do? Especially when Kenton—the one that supposedly wants to kill her—has a devilish twinkle in his eyes that she just can’t say no to?
No matter how dangerous she instinctively knows both men to be, strengths and powers of her own are beginning to bubble to the surface, encouraging her that she can take care of herself, thank you very much.
Love and Hate—two sides of the same coin. Literally.
The only thing left to do is flip that coin and hope for the best…to see which old saying is true. And how many innocents bet the wrong way.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kento Morley has been a vampire since medieval times.  He and his brothers have spent centuries honouring their parent's deaths by killing any of "The Cheld" they find.  The Cheld are humans who develope extra powers that help them keep the balance of power against the vampires.
Alessandra Fiore is a history teacher.  She has just landed a job at the university.
There are two new very attractive and obviously rich men in town.  They both seem to make her hair stand on end.  Something very strange is happening to her.
This is the first book in a new series that I'm definitely already addicted to.  Plenty of great characters and an intriguing storyline.  Our author has her own set of "rules" for her vampires.  That makes them good fun.
I¨m going to go and get the next book now.
