Last Chance Mate: Wes, by Anya Nowlan. Paranormal Romance ARC Review.

Hell or high water, neither could know a shifter was coming...

Dakota Thompson has a heavy cross to bear. With her father gone, she's the one thing standing between good and evil. Though she's up for the challenge, there's only so much she can do alone. But how can she accept help when it comes from someone who might just distract her?

Wes Olsen has always known he could do more. The werewolf Alpha has been searching for his calling and little could prepare him to find it in the form of a curvy, fiery, delicious woman who seems to attract trouble wherever she goes. If the price of love needs to be paid through strength and rage then he's the right man for the job.

Last Chance Mate series includes stand-alone full-length paranormal romance novels with curvy heroines, big, strong Alphas and mysteries, each with a guaranteed HEA and readable as a standalone!

Dakota Thompson has got to recover the items from her father's collection.  Her aunt sold them off thinking Dakota was dead.  The collection of magical items can be very dangerous in the wrong hands.
Wolf shifter, Wes Olsen is part of the Pinedale pack.  They are just recovering after a major battle with a demon.  He is still worried about what else could be out there to maybe threaten the pack.
Our heroine is a Lara Croft type, fearless and strong.  Always hunting for the dangerous magical items to keep them out of the hands of evil people.
Our hero has wanted more for himself than the pack can hope to offer him.
This book is a lot of fun despite the serious subject.  The dynamic between our characters make for great entertainment.  Lots of action and suspense.  It is the second book in the series.  It is better if you read them in order but you can easily read it as a stand alone.
I'm addicted to this series and hope there are many more.  I loved it.

Anya Nowlan loves growly bears, hot sex and writing about both. The sexier and naughtier the better. She mostly writes paranormal and fantasy novellas and novels, focusing on shifters and their lucky mates. Her stories are often bite-sized, just what you need to soothe that craving for brave women and strong alphas with a big side-order of some smuttiness.

Anya lives in Boston with her boyfriend and several dogs of varying sizes and levels of mischief. She can't go through a day without chocolate and has an unhealthy addiction to purses, but every girl is allowed her little vices, right?
