Sapphire is the first book in Taylor Lee’s provocative new series, Ladies of the Night. The Ladies are covert agents in a secretive, off the grid security organization. Highly trained fighters, they’re as gorgeous as they are dangerous to the evil men they’re hired to bring to justice. The only thing these formidable women are NOT is “ladies.”
Gabriella Shaw, Code Name: Sapphire, is hired to seduce and capture the leader of a lucrative international human trafficking enterprise. The epitome of the mastermind’s targeted women, Sapphire is the consummate bait. Unfortunately for the evil man, Sapphire is as deadly as she is beautiful. Paired with former Col. Jase Malone, the two agents enter the Caligula Club to trap their prey. The club is the salacious playground for the rich, famous and deviant, and the conduit to the human trafficking horror. The only thing more challenging than the mastermind to the fiercely independent Sapphire is her commanding partner. The sparks fly as Sapphire and Malone fight to capture the criminally insane mastermind while their fierce personal attraction threatens to bring them both—and the mission—crashing down.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC ,but that does not colour my review in any way.

It's impossible to imagine a more beautiful, kick ass heroine. Sapphire is the embodiment of a Warrior Woman. (That's why she fits so well on my blog). She was in the armed forces, and now works for a private security team of female agents known as Ladies Of The Night. All the operatives are given jewel code names. The boss is a scary Lady called Diamond. When a particular type of operative is needed to take down a vicious sex slaver Sapphire is the only choice.
Jase is also an ex-serviceman working for a private security company. His boss has a special relationship with Diamond, and knows she can provide the type of special operatives he needs.
The main problem is Sapphire hates taking orders. Jase's problem is typical of a Warrior he will protect a woman, especially his woman even when she doesn't need it or want it.
I loved these characters. There is so much passion in all of them. Yet they are so believable. I can truly picture the men and women who really have to do these frightening jobs. We all know in this world there are people like this. My thanks to those who serve to protect the weaker amongst us.

In the less than four years that she has been writing, Taylor has written more than thirty books. Her six, soon to be seven, series track her Special Operatives, Covert Agents, Cops, Firefighters and other iconic heroes and heroines, through the harrowing situations that make up their lives. From human trafficking rings to corrupt politicians, Taylor investigates the underbelly of society and the criminals who flourish there.
Taylor says: “From the residue in my personal blender of mixed races, cultures and world views, my characters emerge. It comforts me to know that while evil slinks in the shadows, the “good guys” of the world sniff it out – and snuff it out.
My characters are arrogant alpha males and the feisty women who bring them to their knees – and vice versa… They fight hard, love hard and don’t mince words. They are dangerous men and women in dangerous times. Love, passion and ridding the world of evil? What’s not to like?”
