He is not in line to inherit anything of his own, and works for his brother the Laird. When he gets his big chance he still doesn't think he is good enough. Our heroine is the opposite. She has worked hard all her life, and knows to grab every chance of happiness you can.
This is part of a series, you could easily read it as a stand alone but you will meet characters from the other books. That will tempt you to buy the others.
Once you start reading you will find it very hard to put down. I loved it. The next one in series promises to be just as good.
