Irresistible Deceptions. by MacKenzie Crowne. Romantic Thriller . ARC Review.

After five years on the run, Nicky Guimond Everson’s location is exposed, and she’s forced to come out of hiding to keep her son safe. Wary and suspicious, she’ll have to trust a stranger if she is to bring her illegal-arms-dealing ex-husband to justice once and for all. But resisting the arrogant but sexy security specialist isn't as easy as she first thought.

For Rhy McLean, the mission comes first. The job is his only love, but as he works with Nicky to catch his brother’s killer, her strength and loyalty melt the ice encasing his heart. She's not at all the woman he expected her to be. But Rhy has a dark secret he's been keeping from her and everything is at risk if she finds out.

Nicky Everson has been hiding from her dangerous and powerful husband for five years, but can't deny the need to attend her father's funeral.  Although she goes in disguise and uses every trick she has learned over the years, someone spots her. Now she must find away to save herself and her young son.
Rhyder McLean works for Global Shield.  When he finds out he has been used by the man who killed his brother,  he swears he will do anything to get his revenge.
A good thriller with our protagonists racing across the country to set the right bait for their trap. Our heroine has never trusted anyone to protect her and her son. Is this the time to change that.? Our hero is wracked with guilt over his part in Nicky's problems, and is determined to keep them safe while he gets the revenge he craves.
An intense emotional read.

Hi there. My name is Mackenzie Crowne.

I'm a a wife, mother and really young grandmother. Together with my high school sweet heart husband, a neurotic Pomeranian and a blind cat, I call Phoenix home because the southwest feeds my soul. My love of the romance genre has been a lifelong affair, both as a reader and a writer. A bout with breast cancer sharpened my resolve to see my stories shared with others. Today I'm a seven-year survivor living the dream.

Raised on the concept that a stranger is just one conversation away from being a friend, I love meeting new people. My friends call me Mac. I hope you will too.
