Ice Moon. ( The Moon Series #5 ) by Lisa Kessler. BLog Tour, ARC Review + GIVEAWAY

Jared Ayers works outdoors, embracing a solitary life, hiding from his inner demons. But after so many of his Pack brothers have found their mates, he starts wondering if there might be a mate in his future too. His world turns upside down after he's hired by the "Ice Queen of Lake Tahoe". One touch is all it takes. One touch to send the wolf howling within...

A gifted psychic with pyrokinesis, Taryn Goldstone wields fire beyond her control– sometimes with dire consequences. With Jared, she discovers that some flames are meant for passion–and healing. She has enemies who covet her powerful gift, but they are about to learn just how far a wolf will go to protect his mate.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC but that does not colour my review in any way.

Taryn is a real estate agent, known as the ice queen because of her behavior with people .  She keeps her emotions under tight control, and rarely touches anyone, even her young son.  The reason Taryn does this is because she once lost control of her pyrokenetic power and can't risk it happening again.
Jared is a carpenter who is building a new deck for Taryn's house. He is also a werewolf, and he is drawn to both Taryn and little Charlie. But they could be a big problem for Jared's pack because there is something important Taryn must know but telling her is just as dangerous. When a man comes to town to look for property the temperature could rise too far. Because the pack have a history with him, and he wants Taryn for her power.
A great story full of surprises and emotion. Our lonely heroine  is yearning for the one thing she has never had. Our super sexy hero is hard for her to resist. At times he makes her blood boil.
A good full length story with plenty to get your teeth into.
This is part of a series, but easily read as a stand alone.
I haven't read the rest of this series, but I will have to now. There are so many great characters here.

Wow! Goodreads just asked me for my city of birth and date of death... What if I could answer that? Would I live life differently if I knew for sure how much longer I had left?

Interesting thought.

That's generally how my writer brain works. I've been dreaming up stories since I was in elementary school. My first book was titled "The Wonders of Unicorn Creek" and my publisher was Dehesa elementary school.

Since then, I've published numerous short stories in anthologies and magazines. My story, "Immortal Beloved" was a finalist for a Bram Stoker award and was recently re-released in the "Dead Souls" anthology, along with a follow-up never-before-published story, "Subito Piano".

Paranormal tales are my favorite and I tend toward the dark side. Join me? :)
