Ruby Danvers is a police officer, and chasing after a man who is dragging a woman down an alley.  When he turns on her, even her gunshots don't stop him.
Harlan Akers is a vampire who is tracking down an old friend who seems to have gone rogue.  

I can´t really describe it more without giving away the story. 

This is a great start to a new series . Full of sexy vampire action.  Not all the usual rules apply.  I love the characters and hope we see more of them.  There are more rogues for them to hunt.
