Synopsis
From the first time Marty and Lola meet, make love, and find their relationship destroyed by secrets of her past, you will know where he stands. How will Marty get over losing the love of his life, knowing he will see her until he dies? Was helping Sharlyn live the decision putting him over the edge? Eugene portrays the image of uncaring, social misfit detached from the frivolous antics of society. What no one knows is how deep the longing of human companionship dwells within his soul. When Prisha is ripped from his life, without explanation or good-bye, he fails to recover from her deep brown eyes and irresistible challenge. Will he ever find the courage to connect again? Rudy fell from football superstar to forgotten paraplegic. Mourning the loss of his career is secondary to losing the ability to make love, father children, or play in the LockHim Room. Wanting his personal life back so badly, he’s willing to explore options putting him back in love’s game. But, is Lola the one he really wants? How will he know the difference between love and lust?

Excerpt
I’m not sure who I was worried about most- me or Sharlyn.
“Okay, Marty, we are getting everything ready. Pretty soon we will have you count back from ten for us. You know, ten, nine, eight, just like that.”
“Groovy.” I used some lame answer attempting to show bravery. They didn’t need to know how false it really was. Was this how a psychopath’s victim felt? Helpless, can’t stop what’s coming next, strapped down, already sedated, at the hands of drugs, overcoming my senses, rendering lame unconscious?
I’d never been completely under anesthesia. The first drug they gave me in my IV was extremely cool. I loved everything and everyone, nothing but sunshine and orgasms in my medicated world. But, now, I gave myself over to a team of medical professionals ready to cut into me and excise a portion of my liver. I believe any possible reconsideration was out of order.
I fidgeted watching the doctor inspecting images on a screen, while the nurses lined up trays, instruments, and large amounts of gauze. Soft music played in the background, a jazz station of some kind I assumed. Someone put a blood pressure cuff on my arm. Someone else put an oxygen mask over my nose.
“The oxygen will make sure your body gets what it needs while you’re under.”
Oh shit, I was gonna have to count soon.
“Marty, we’re ready, I’m starting the anesthesia now, count with me- ten, nine, eight.”
Through the mask, tubes, and fear paralyzing my mouth, I dryly mumbled down to eight, how did he know eight was my lucky number?

What the fuck…

Davee Jones –What is the first book that you published? My first book published was, ironically, not the first book I wrote. On Ellicott Street – a feisty, loving, cougar romance novella- holds the honor of being my first published book. Finless, released second, was the result of years of blood, sweat, and tears. It’s a dark dance balancing between love, desire, and anger. I have 11 total releases so far between my adult moniker and my YA moniker, Allee Mae.My ideal reader allows me to take them to the edge of sanity, push limits, and support a sometimes simple protagonist just trying to get by in life. I have the same type characters in my explicit writing as well as my sweet or YA books-they just don’t use the “F” word or engage in overt sexuality. It doesn’t always take erotic descriptors of body parts/functions to get a point across. But, I will bring out the sexy when a mature story requires it. (wink) I have adult content available as: Davee Jones began a career in the counseling field with her M.Ed. She then diversified and began work for the federal government. Author Bio: For my sweet side as Allee Mae- with my 13 y/o daughter, we combine to create fictional worlds with something for everyone. Whether exploring urban legends, the eerie paranormal, first loves, sweet romance, scary dreams, we take you away from the everyday.

Will Lola really shut down the Fantasy Leagues, just as she was making serious friends? With Rudy, her best client and confidant, in the hospital after a paralyzing football injury, she must evaluate what's important. Her mother reveals a bizarre addiction just before she gives Lola cryptic information about her dad. What did Rod Stewart really have to do with Lola's father? The Letter opens doors to both heartache and love, but, she doesn't know how to deal with either one. Just what did she do to make Marty attack her car with a baseball bat? Does she really have that much passionate power over her closest companions? Meanwhile, a second encounter with Danika ignites smoldering passions leaving these besties more than confused. Does Danika love both Lola and Finn? How could the two relationships be so opposite? Will Eugene agree to shoulder Lola through this latest crisis? Potentially, working behind the scenes on the Fantasy Leagues may have revealed to Eugene what he is missing the most- a soul mate. Finn receives an offer almost too good to be true, if he takes the brass ring opportunity, will he say good-bye to Danika just as things are heating up? Lola spirals downward in an alcoholic torrent of hopelessness and fear, trying to help her long lost daughter, Sharlyn. Dying from a disease, Lola would've never even met her long lost daughter if the situation wasn't critical. With Sharlyn's appearance, an unknown father is revealed, unraveling everything Lola tied shut years before. Just as in football, life is a game of inches, some gained some lost. Watching these characters struggle to gain yards may destroy relationships instead of scoring touchdowns. With many twists and turns keeping the reader guessing, a Game of Inches exposes the raw as well as the tender we all experience in life. But, do we get up and power on, or do we lie down and give up what may be the best game of our lives?

   Excerpt
Teaser from Split the Uprights: I cracked the single tail whip. The black leather snapped across the room, echoing supremacy. He stood stock still, even with the pop next to his head. “Are you afraid of me?” “No, Coach Dom Lola.” He even tipped his chin slightly upward. I saw this as an act of a defiant ego. “You are nothing but muscle, you have no power here. Your choices aren’t your own. It’s all for me!” He didn’t move, not even his chin this time. “I could shred you.” I cracked the whip again, the popper lashed by his t-shirt hem, whooshing the fabric. Silence.
Teaser from A Game of Inches: Lola. I don’t know what I was doing with Lola. She and I were filling a sexual need neither of us wanted to give up. Apparently, her usual outlets were now unavailable, at least, I assumed so. I wasn’t ready to give up my sexual experiments, going to the next level with Finn would definitely stop all extracurricular activities. She was so soft, beautiful, and sexy. I had no idea making love with another woman could be so sensual.
Teaser from A Game of Inches: “I’d punch you…” “You love me too much to punch me. I won’t tell anyone if you admit it.” “Yes, Rudy, I do love you. It’s because I love you I punch you. Don’t you remember?” I remember his ass firm as a Brazilian butt lift. All Rudy, every inch and delicious curve. “Will you still let me play with you?”

Fighting Silence by Aly Martinez. Blog Tour, Review + Giveaway.

"That wasn't yours to take away," he exploded into the otherwise silent night. His words echoed off the surrounding buildings, each wave slicing me to the quick all over again. "That was our place. Not yours." His voice cracked right alongside my heart.
"Yeah, well, there was a lot of stuff that wasn't yours to take either." I held his gaze, desperately trying to be strong, but as his eyes grew wide, I whimpered.
His long legs strode forward, stopping only inches away from me. He was crowding me, but he still leaned in closer to my face. "There is nothing in this world that was ever more mine than you," he stated. Though it was the absolute truth, I wished with all my heart that it were a lie.
"Till," I cried, swiping the tears from my eyes.
"Why!" he shouted, causing his muscles to tense under the force. "Goddamn it! I needed that place."
Porch lights flashed on from the surrounding apartments, illuminating not only the dark but also my rage.
I shoved my hands into his chest. "What about what I needed? You left! I waited in that fucking apartment for weeks."
He didn't budge, but my bare feet slipped, sending me toward the ground. Impossibly fast, Till's hand snaked out and caught my arm. I didn't let his chivalrous gesture douse my fire. I had six months’ worth of words to say to the man I was irrevocably in love with.
"You took what you wanted. Then you left me."
"Doodle," he whispered.
I had been perilously close to the edge of insanity, and with one single word, he’d pushed me over.
I lost it completely.
Pounding my fists against his chest, I screamed at the top of my lungs, "It's Eliza! My name is fucking Eliza! Not Doodle!" I spun to march away, but Till's arms folded around me, lifting me off my feet to restrain me.
I was miniscule compared to him. There was no use in fighting, but I still kicked my legs, irrationally desperate to get away from him—but only because I knew I couldn't keep him for forever.
"Stop it!" he growled into my ear. "I know your Goddamn name—probably better than I know my own."

                                           MY REVIEW:
★★★★★
This is a very emotional story. Till is a young man struggling to keep his brothers fed and at school despite the neglect of their parents .When his real life is too much for him he creates a fantasy one. Eliza also has neglectful parents. She loves to draw and hides in an condemned apartment to do it. The two youngsters time away from their troubles becomes more important to them as the years pass. The struggles get more intense as adults with responsibilities.  The boxing gym  helps Till cope , but not enough to stop his fears. Eliza has known Till is the one for her since she was thirteen, but making him realise it is next to impossible.
A true love story that pulls no punches.  I hope there is more from this family.

The Celtic Fan by Deanndra Hall.Book Blitz and Excerpt.

Title: The Celtic Fan
Author: Deanndra Hall
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
Tour Host: DRC Promotions

Excerpt
“Reaching for my right hand, she placed it gently but firmly above her left breast, and held it there with a warm, velvety hand. I could feel her heart throbbing, almost hear its rhythm. “You’re already in here, Steve Riley,” she said calmly, her voice as light and soft as angel’s wings. “But where am I?” Her eyes searched my face, looking for an indication of my inclination, any clue of how I’d respond.
“It’s been six years, Diana,” I whispered into her hair. I struggled, my mind trying to collect the words I needed to say, to say them the right way, to mean them when I said them. “Do you really want me to be the one? Are you sure it should be me? Are you really ready?”
I remember pulling her close again, lightly kissing her eyelids, her cheeks, her lips. If I’d held my hand a half inch above any area on her body, I’m sure a current would’ve passed between us that could power all of Ashville. Her hair was everywhere, as was mine, and she trembled slightly in my arms as I stroked the mass of blond waves. I looked down at the length of our bodies intertwined, appreciating the beauty of her white skin against my darkness. Several strands of our hair lay together on my chest, and I couldn’t help but make a mental snapshot of the moment, the shiny blond and the glossy dark brown hair wrapped and twisted into one strand, our legs and bodies fused into a solid oneness. I twirled the hair together, as though that would keep us locked in each other’s arms permanently.
As erotic as the night had been, there had been no hesitation, no embarrassment, not a single apology, and there had been nothing dirty or vulgar or obscene about it. It was incredible, but it was also more than wild animal sex, and we both knew it. I kissed her shoulder, then drew her arm out and kissed down the inside of its length. That’s when I noticed it for the first time, her arm turned just the right direction in the candlelight. On the inside of her left wrist was a tattoo of a tiny Celtic fan.
We were like two fifteen-year-olds, exploring each other’s bodies, acting as if we alone had discovered the oldest pleasure known to man, were the only ones to realize that penises and vaginas fit together. There was a wonderment, a sparkle to it all, and even after all the women I’d been with, I felt as though Diana had stolen my virginity, as though she was the very first woman with whom I’d ever become one.”

Synopsis

The Celtic Fan
It's a number one bestseller on every list. It's a love story for the ages. And it's a mystery.
At least its author is. Nick Roberts has never been seen. He doesn't do interviews. He doesn't answer fan mail. He doesn't do late-night talk shows, or book signings, or conferences. No one knows who he is. Everyone's looking for him; websites have been set up offering rewards for finding him.
Four old friends plan their annual road trip. It's been a toss-up every year, with each being different (and some not so good). But this year Russ's idea is to find Nick Roberts. With an address stolen from the accounting files of the publishing house, the four friends set out to find the elusive Roberts and make names for themselves. And as three begin to get distracted - Russ by women, Michael by liquor, and Jim by porn or who knows what - only one stays the course: Steve Riley, a journalist from Knoxville, is determined to find Roberts and land the story of the century.
His dedication to his mission is complicated by a deluge, a flash flood, and an obviously incorrect address. But as time has its way, Steve begins to wonder if his trip will be successful in any other ways. And if his suspicions are correct, what will he do?
Even more unsettling is the real question: If he finds Nick Roberts, will he tell?
Set in the foothills of the beautiful Smokey Mountains, The Celtic Fan is two stories - the story of a journalist following his biggest story ever, and of a wounded soldier and the girl with whom he falls in love post-World War II. Throughout the pages, Bill and Claire's tragic tale winds its way through Steve's story, a story he never thought he'd tell.

The Writing of The Celtic Fan…

In the summer of 2000, my then-teenage daughter took a trip to Europe with a high school group. She hadn’t been gone twenty-four hours before I had an idea. I’d been writing for years, but I’d never been able to work up the nerve to write a book. So I set out to do just that.
I began writing and, as I did, the words began to pour out of my fingertips. They were so passionate and lovely that I couldn’t stop. I wrote in a frenzy because I knew that once my daughter walked back into the house, I’d go back into “full-time mom mode” and that would be it – it would never be finished.
I wrote. I wrote for three nights and four days. Without sleeping. Barely eating. Only occasionally getting up to go to the bathroom or stretch. Writing was all I did. And I finished it the day before she was set to return. Late that evening, after a nap, I opened the file and read through it. I’d assumed that, considering the way in which it was put down, it would be a four door, brass-plated disaster, and I was shocked to find that it was both clear and beautiful. Then I closed the file, caught up all of the things I was supposed to do while she was gone, picked her up from the airport, and never looked at it again.
In the next five years I devoted an enormous amount of time to writing, but I never went back to the book.
Time passed. I’d stored the files on three and one-half inch floppies. Somewhere along the line, I had one of those hideous Zip drives, and they got moved around to those cartridges too.
Several years and three computers later, to my horror, I found that the files were gone. I looked everywhere, scoured old floppy disks, searched through old hard drives. Nothing. They had vanished, lost in the technological shuffle.
Oddly enough, in mid-October 2013, over thirteen years after I’d first written this book, I was telling my partner about it. I’d never even mentioned it to him before, and after I explained the plot, I lamented, “It was really, really good. I wish I still had it.”
And then, on Halloween night – Samhain to me – he was recounting his trip to our ancient county courthouse that day and telling me about a clock crashing down from the wall, almost hitting a lady passing by. He said one of the security guards commented, “Yeah, we’ve had lots of poltergeist activity today.” We laughed about it.
But as I went to bed, I had a sudden thought: I’d bought a brand-new external hard drive, and it occurred to me that, although I backed up my files every night, I’d never checked to see if they really were backed up. I went back to my computer to check and found that they had not transferred, and my heart froze. I had to back them up. What if lightning struck? I’d lose everything I’d been working on, including several completed manuscripts. So I manually copied files, then opened the external hard drive to check and see if they were really there. I went to the search bar and typed in “writing.”
Up popped dozens of files, things I couldn’t identify. I stared at them in disgust, wondering what junk they could possibly be and where they could’ve possibly come from. I opened one that seemed particularly odd, and gasped.
There they were. The book; four books, in fact. All of the short stories. All of the poetry. Everything I’d wondered about, looked for, lost – all on a brand-new external hard drive.
To this very moment, I still have no clue how they got there. No one was more surprised than I, and I began to cry to the extent that my partner came to see what was wrong. I couldn’t believe it. It didn’t make sense, and yet there they were. I made note of where they were located, closed the files, shut down the computer for the night, and went to bed, barely able to sleep.
It was with shaking hands and a racing heart that I opened the file for The Celtic Fan the next morning and had the distinct, unimaginable joy of seeing these words intact and as beautiful as they were initially, a full thirteen years since their original writing.

Excerpt

“There was a current, a flow, when we were together that I’d come to appreciate. It rolled and slipped and slid here and there between us, holding us together in our passion. I could feel it when I touched her, a palpable thing, meandering and lyrical, its own entity. When my hands left her body, they felt drawn again as if there were a magnetic pull, and my palms ached until I pressed them against her flesh again. She felt it too, I could tell, and let it breathe in and out of her, pouring itself into every gap, every crack, every crevice where our bodies didn’t meet, following the path of least resistance, binding us together with every stroke, every whispered moan, every touch. I loved that house, that room, that bed, but inside her was my true home.
I wanted to be sure of one thing. I wanted to be confident that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, Diana Nicole Frazier belonged to me. I already belonged to her, body and soul. She owned parts of me no other woman had even seen, things I didn’t know existed. I wanted her to believe and never doubt that we would be together. I wanted to give her something that would hold her to me until fall, until we could make the big decisions. Finding that thing, that way to cement us together, was my goal for the week.
She pulled my face to hers and kissed me, but I couldn’t stand it, couldn’t contain it. I stretched out on top of her, my arms around her, and sobbed out loud, all the love and pain and fear and joy wrapped up together in my embrace. Her tears were silent, but they filled her eyes and ran down her cheeks, falling into her hair and wetting it, wetting my hair too. I was home, and I didn’t want to leave.
Inside her, everything was right again, and for the first time in weeks my heart stopped aching.”

About The Author

For as long as I can remember, I've been a writer . . .
and it has served me well. I wrote for local publications, wrote marketing and advertising materials, wrote for academic publications, and eventually grew jaded with the writing profession as I often watched others take credit for my hard work. I retreated into the world of 3-D art in the fiber and textile mediums and hid out in a world of colors and textures. But, truth is, there was always a story or two in my head. It wasn't until Nikki and I met in my imagination that I decided it was time to let those stories out, and I'm glad I did. My readers now get to enjoy the fruits of my imagination and, believe me, it runs wild!
On the personal side, I've been happily married to my lover and best friend for over thirty years, and I have two wonderful adult kids who've blessed me with two excellent choices of life partners. When I'm not writing, I'm playing with my three crazy little dogs, hiking in a local recreation area, kayaking, working out at the gym, tending my herbs, cooking, or doing some kind of research.
But I'd really rather be writing!

The End Game by Kate McCarthy. Cover Reveal

Title: The End Game
Author: Kate McCarthy
Cover Design: Mae I Design & Photography
 Release Date: April 7, 2015

Synopsis
“Professional athletes are pillars of their respective communities. They are heroes in the eyes of boys and girls and are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that positively represents their community.”
The public loves a good scandal. Seeing someone fall from the pinnacle of success makes a great headline. No one knows that better than I do. What started out as a promising career in college football, spiraled into scandal and shame.
But being a hero is easier said then done. Especially when there are those who expected to see the great Brody Madden fail. I craved nothing except being the best—willing to do anything to prove them wrong. But I went too far, and I tried too hard, and it broke me.
“At the time of going to print, Jordan Elliott was unavailable for comment.”
I met Brody Madden in my senior year of college. An Australian native on an international scholarship, I was the female soccer sensation with stars in her eyes and no room for a hotshot wide receiver with a chip on his shoulder.
But a heart bursting with ambition and a driving fire to succeed isn’t made of stone. I became his strength, his obsession, and the greatest love of his life. Only I wasn’t there when he needed me most.
This is a story about love and a game that takes everything. Where the path to glory is paved with sacrifice. Where pressure makes you, or breaks you, and triumph is born in the ashes of failure. Where two people’s end game will change everything.
