Genre: Historical Romance

A determined Scottish lady Seonaid Ferguson, a lady of Craiglocky Keep, is through with London’s Marriage Mart. He certainly should not be falling in love with the lovely, spirited sister of Laird Ewan MacTavish, a lass whose dowry is insufficient to restore his ancestral home. Nor should he consider, even for a moment, her risquรฉ, but deliciously tempting scheme to rid her of the second sight.

A danger most dire Matters are torn from their hands when a dangerous adversary vows to expose Seonaid as a witch, just as Jacques's problems at the mine escalate into deadly violence. Is it by chance, or a dark design, that both of them are beset at once? Dare Jacques and Seonaid throw caution aside and forge a future together?

MY REVIEW

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

Seonaid Ferguson is on her way back to the Scottish highlands and her beloved family.  She has the so called gift of second sight,  but after visions her hit her in public she has been treated like a cheap gypsy fortune teller.   She would like nothing more than to lose this gift forever.  To know when bad things are going to happen but be unable to stop them is a torment.
Jacques,  Monsieur le Baron de Devaux- Rousset is hoping to restore his family home in France with the silver from a mine in Scotland.  A man he worked with during the war lives nearby and has offered to help.
The journey through a highland winter storm brings many dangers,  not all of them from the weather.  Sometimes the fellow passengers are decidedly unpleasant.
Our heroine is in more danger than she knows when her abilities are seen by some to be the devils work.
Our hero had more than one reason to travel to the highlands.  The beautiful woman he met in Paris is in his mind much more than he will admit, even to himself.
A wonderful journey to discover just what is really important in life.  Lots of danger, emotion and excitement.  Our author draws you right into the lives of her characters right from the first page to the last.
This is part of a series where our protagonists met in a previous story,  but it is still easily read as a stand alone.
I loved it.

Heartbreak and Honor. (Highland Heather Romancing A Scot #3) by Collette Cameron. ARC Review.

Abducted by a band of renegade Scots, Highland gypsy Tasara Faas blackens her rescuer’s eye when the charming duke attempts to steal a kiss. Afterward, Tasara learns she’s the long-lost heiress Alexandra Atterberry and is expected to take her place among the elite society she’s always disdained.

Lucan, the Duke of Harcourt, promised his gravely ill mother he’d procure a wife by Christmastide, but intrigued by the feisty lass he saved in Scotland, he finds the haut ton ladies lacking. Spying Alexa at a London ball, he impulsively decides to make the knife-wielding gypsy his bride despite her aversion to him and her determination to return to the Highlands.

The adversary responsible for Alexa’s disappearance as a toddler still covets her fortune and joins forces with Harcourt’s arch nemesis. Amidst a series of suspicious misfortunes, Lucan endeavors to win Alexa’s love and expose the conspirators but only succeeds in reaffirming Alexa’s belief that she is inadequate to become his duchess.

After her rescue gypsy Tasara Faas'  whole life changes. She discovers the only parents she remembers are not really related to her. Not even her name is her own. The gypsy tribe found her as a toddler all alone and took her in. During the rescue of another woman, who was being held by the same people as her, someone thinks she looks very much like someone they know. This worries the tribe , and the leader insists she must now leave to find her own family.
When Logan the Duke of Harcourt  helped his friend rescue the woman who is now his wife,  he is immediately attracted to the beautiful gypsy. When he next sees her she is walking into a ballroom as if she owns it.
Not everyone is happy with Alexa's reappearance. The more she tries to discover about her past, the more danger she is in.
A very good romance with an interesting helping of mystery and suspense. The characters have lots of depth ,and will keep you trying to work out what happened in the past. It is part of a series.  While you could quite easily read it as a stand alone,  it's better to have read the previous book.

Virtue And Valor, ( Highland Heather Romancing A Scot #2) by Collette Cameron. +ARC Review.

Virtue and Valor
by Collette Cameron
Series: Highland Heather Romancing a Scot, #2
Genre: Historical Romance - Scottish Regency
Release Date: June 24, 2015

Bartholomew Yancy never expected to inherit an English earldom and had no intention of marrying. Now, the Earl of Ramsbury and last in his line, he’s obligated to resign his position as England’s War Secretary, find a wife, and produce an heir. Only one woman holds the least appeal: Isobel Ferguson, an exquisite Scotswoman. Brought to Scotland to mediate between feuding clans, he doggedly woos her.

Disillusioned with men pursuing her for her attractiveness, rather than her unusual intellect, Isobel has all but abandoned any hope of finding a husband in the Highlands. Not only does she believe Yancy no different than her other suitors, he’s a notorious rake. She’s been told he’s practically betrothed. Therefore, his interest in her cannot possibly be honorable, and so she shuns his attentions.

When Isobel is mistakenly abducted by a band of rogue Scots, Yancy risks his life to rescues her. To salvage her compromised reputation, her brother and father insist she marry him. Yancy readily agrees, but Isobel—knowing full well she’s fated for spinsterhood by refusing his offer— won’t be coerced into marriage.

Can love unite a reluctant earl and a disenchanted beauty?

★★★★★
This is the 2nd in the series but is easily read as a stand alone.
Isabel is exactly my type of  heroine. Intelligent, brave and strong. So when the men of her Clan and the pesky man her heart wants,(but is unavailable ) order her not to leave the castle without an armed guard , of course she defies them. She has always gone where she likes,  and they will not tell her why she shouldn't.  By the time she finds out why it's too late. She is in mortal danger.
The Earl of Ramsey (Yancy ) has travelled to Scotland to try and help stop a Clan war breaking out. He is visiting with an old friend ,who's sister would make a beautiful wife. Before he realises that there is a lot more to Isabel than a pretty face,  she has defied him and is in danger. When he thinks everything is finished,  he wakes up in a room full of angry Scots with a blade at his throat.
An exciting romp through regency Scotland.  With the men as usual underestimating the intelligence of a "helpless" female.  Our hero is determined to rescue his heroine,  and is so far outside his element.  All great fun.
