Brooklynn Armstrong can't believe what she thought was her perfect life is now in tatters. Just because she saw someone turn into a lion. She is a cop but now she is the one hiding.  Her boss didn't believe her and her partner now wants to kill her.
Carran is part of the Alaskan Tigers he has been sent to solve the problem of the foolish lion shifter who let himself be seen, and the cop who saw it. The local wolf shifters would rather just kill her to solve the problem.
Our  honourable cop sees the world as good or bad, no grey areas. If you kill you are bad an should go to jail. Our hero will kill to protect the innocent and those he loves. That poses a real dilemma for our heroine.
An action packed, fast paced story. Its full of very well balanced characters. It is part of a series.  I have not read the others but had no problem getting straight into this one. We do meet more of the Alaskan Tigers that I assume had their own books. This would not spoil those books for you. I look forward to reading some of the others.

Excerpt

Finally, while Red pumped gas, she had an opportunity to turn the tables on Carran and ask him the question that had been weighing on her mind since their touch. “Carran…” She couldn’t bring herself to look at him. “When we…uh…when you…touched me…” She stumbled over her words, not sure how to say it.

“When I touched you, what?”

How could he not know? She turned to look at him and found him staring at her, his face void of expression. Was she the only one who could feel it? Maybe she was losing her mind after all. No, she refused to believe that. She had witnessed the man shift into a lion and she felt the electricity and the heat when Carran touched her. No matter what everyone else thought, she wasn’t nuts. “The…sizzling heat. Damn it, tell me you felt it, too!”

Without saying a word, he reached over the armrest and let his fingers caress over the top of her hand. His touch was feather soft, barely making contact, but the current sparked to life between them, bringing the heat. “This?” His voice barely rose above a whisper as his fingers continued to trace circles around her knuckles.

“Yes.” The word came out breathier than she wanted it to, forcing her to take a deep breath. “Why?”

“Think of it as a sign.”

“A sign? What kind of sign?”
